MIO: Memories in Orbit
Always down for a few well crafted metroidvanias throughout the year. This is a very solid one. The movement and platforming is great, combat is ok but definitely secondary to the world and exploration.

Resident Evil HD Remaster
Had held off from playing this or the original RE for far too long. Had played the other mainlines and remakes and its one of my favorite series. Seeing the survival horror template was awesome. This has great moments and design.

Escape Simulator
My initial instinct is this is better than 2, even if it is much more simpler. I thought the one room 15 minute rooms fit better. It controlled much better for me also. Puzzles range from awesome and engaging to frustrating and obtuse, but leaning more to the former.

Skate Story
Great Vibe and sticks around for the perfect amount of time. Music and gameplay elements blend together perfectly. It didn't have much room to improve on itself in the last few chapters but was glad I could see it through to the end.

Escape Simulator 2
Well made, engaging puzzles. The settings are pretty standard fare and the controls on the steam deck were definitely wonky. But I could play these kind of games forever. Looking forward to trying some of the community levels.

BALL x PIT
Got addicted to this for a few days. It definitely doesn't have the legs to support past the credit. But I loved this for what it was.

Ghost of Yotei
The new definitive standard for open world graphics, beatiful design and animation around every corner and beyond every vista. The gameplay is fun and pretty much a 1:1 copy of the previous entry. I found the story to be a big downgrade from Tsushima but not enough to ruin it,

Revenge of the Savage Planet
Enjoyed this quite a bit, the exploration is fun, the base sim is an easy thing to wrap your head around and not a major part of the game.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered
Love the old school quest design and world. The natural progression of quests and exploration through rumors and hearsay about town is second to none.
I can admit my score ,ay be based more on nostalgia than anything else. Compared to modern games the combat and RPG progression might as

Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo
A fun and challenge filled adventure. The mechanics work well together and there are some real tough platforming challenges. I was a couple more fails away from giving up on the last boss due to how much of a marathon it is.

Bionic Bay
A fun and quick physics platformer that isn't too challenging but is paced well and has a lot of inventive puzzles to work through. I don't think anything about the setting or narrative will stay with me.

Split Fiction
Proved a little too difficult/frustrating for my wife, I really enjoyed what I got to play and hope I can come back to it soon.

Mario Kart World
Incredibly fun, the 24 person races are chaotic to the max. Its much more fun than competitively balanced for sure. It looks and runs pristinely for the amount of action and effects on the screen. I only have a few issues on some of the designs; the free roam didn't

Drop Duchy
Enjoyed this quite a bit even though I don't really think it is deep enough to try and push through the harder levels. It can be hard to put down when it starts really hitting and you get a great build going. The design is really cool and inventive.

The Case of the Golden Idol
I think its a little more scattered than the sequel but i still greatly enjoyed the story and setting.

Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector
Still love this game and format, although a little less this time around.
Moving from station to station was fun although a lot of them are pretty shallow. The contracts are stressful and punishing if you make mistakes or roll bad. The writing is still all time engaging and the character

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Credit to Nintendo for the unique design of the mechanics wrapped in a typically straightforward and bland overhead Zelda game. It does genuinely feel like there are dozens of ways to solve the puzzles here.
The presentation, soundtrack, and design all have the top line Nintendo polish. I am still excited

Minishoot' Adventures
A fun streamlined, Zelda, metroidvania, and bullet shell filled adventure. None of the genres are pushed to the limit but they compliment each other well in a fulfilling and fleshed out experience.

Alan Wake 2: The Lake House
Alan Wake II is one of my favorite games of all time. And this side adventure is solid crack at a small story with the Remedy polish. The setting and presentation is still elite and the writing is a little below my standard for them but well worth the short

Silent Hill 2
Undoubtedly a true success and a scary and faithful adaptation. I would probably say it is the scariest game i have ever played, the prison alone alone is a genre defining sequence in survival horror setting and ambience.
This is definitely not breaking any new grounds in any of its gameplay
