Nixxes once again does an impeccable job. An exceptional port of a great adventure, with all the content included, which also has a great optimization to work very well in different configurations. Without a doubt, PlayStation should make them the only studio tasked with porting their games to PC.

Princess Peach Showtime! It's the typical case of a game that doesn't attract attention, but if you give it a chance, it has weapons to win you over. It is a simple game, for all audiences, that manages to catch you with a varied development and an overflowing sympathy. It's in a different league than Super Mario Bros. Wonder, but it's fun.

82 / 100 - Broforce
Mar 9, 2024

Broforce is like a summer blockbuster: popcorn action, entertaining, with a lot of humor, that catches from beginning to end and entertains without major pretensions. It's best enjoyed in short sessions, especially if you don't play with friends. To some palates, its action can be repetitive after the first few hours, but that has not been my case...

With hardly any changes in gameplay and development, the Brothers remake manages to offer a bigger show thanks to Unreal Engine 5, although not without technical problems at launch, such as notable firecracks and clipping, at least on PS5. If you played it back in the day, you're not going to find much new, and the extras and novelties are a bit lazy.

86 / 100 - Pacific Drive
Feb 20, 2024

For their first feature, my heartfelt applause for Ironwood Studios. Not only have they taken the roguelite formula to new ground, integrating driving, deep survival, and a captivating sci-fi story, which makes sense of their original world. Despite the bugs or the fact that the roguelite formula doesn't appeal to you, there is "something" about it.

82 / 100 - Helldivers II
Feb 15, 2024

Helldivers 2 doesn't invent anything, but what it does, it does so well and in such a fun way that it's hard not to fall at its feet. You can reproach it for flaws, shortcomings and aspects that are not well balanced, but none of that prevents it from being a fun game, a guilty pleasure, especially in co-op.

79 / 100 - Palworld
Jan 27, 2024

Palworld is an entertaining game if you connect with its survival and monster-catching mechanics, and its gameplay loop. But at the same time, it's easy to feel like it's not original, that it doesn't do anything you haven't seen before, and that it crosses some red lines by taking inspiration from certain games.

Without being a perfect compilation, Another Code: Recollection brings up to date two memorable adventures that fans of the genre in the strict sense of the word will like, those in which exploration and puzzles are the protagonists, although at times it almost seems more like a visual novel.

80 / 100 - World of Horror
Dec 19, 2023

World of Horror isn't a game for all horror lovers, because of its 80s conversational adventure style. But if you connect with its formula, with its roguelite touches, its turn-based combats and its visuals, then get ready to have a great time. Too bad it doesn't squeeze out all the options that Nintendo Switch offers.

82 / 100 - Cookie Cutter
Dec 16, 2023

Cookie Cutter isn't just another metroidvania. Like so many others, he manages to find his place with ideas and his own aesthetic, which does not "contain itself" and lets its gore and hyperviolent touch flow, with a cheeky and punk humor. Too bad some aspects need a little polishing, because it's fun and catchy.

Arizona Sunshine 2 convinces with its mindless action, silly humor, and the relationship between Buddy and the protagonist. It may not innovate, it may have technical flaws and all its tricks have been seen before, but what it does, it does in a very entertaining way: it's almost impossible to get bored with it.

80 / 100 - TEVI
Dec 2, 2023

Without doing anything new, Tevi is forceful in its proposal: a metroidvania with touches of role-playing, bullet hell and even a touch of "souslike" (it's difficult, but you can turn it into hell), which is difficult to resist once you've taken the bait.

80 / 100 - Worldless
Nov 22, 2023

In a year as saturated with great games as 2023, Worldless is presented as one of its latest surprises, a metroidvania that manages to conquer with its original combat system and a minimalist aesthetic that works like a charm. Without a doubt, a great presentation job for Noname Studios.

79 / 100 - EA Sports WRC
Nov 7, 2023

EA Sports WRC is a rally simulator that is brimming with content, but leaves you feeling uneven. Many modes and options feel half-throttled, as if they don't give everything they could, while the technical section doesn't take advantage of all the power of current systems, in addition to presenting flaws.

58 / 100 - The Invincible
Nov 4, 2023

The Invincible is a walking simulator that, starting from a good story, fails to adapt it to a video game in a satisfactory way. It's a slow game, with accessory and sometimes unnecessary mechanics that at times feels more like a visual novel with playable "globs". And that's a shame, because there was potential in its atmosphere.

WarioWare: Move It! recovers the crazy and irreverent essence of the series with a new installment that puts the entire weight of the gameplay on the JoyCon, and the absurd poses, with good results. Add multiplayer modes to bore, from Story mode to a variety of co-op and competitive experiences, and you've got FUN at its best.

80 / 100 - EA Sports UFC 5
Oct 28, 2023

EA Sports UFC 5 is a great fighting game that recreates this successful competition like never before, both its staging and its beastly side thanks to a spectacular damage system and great modeling of the fighters. Although in general it is a continuity game in many aspects, the online Career mode is one of its great successes.

91 / 100 - Dave the Diver
Oct 25, 2023

Dave the Diver is one of the best indie games of 2023, plain and simple. Not only is it tremendously fun and original, but it's also long, has a very careful audio-visual plot and they keep adding more content. And he exudes a sympathy that is difficult to see today.

City Skylines 2 is a great city management and creation game, with a bright future ahead thanks to updates, mods and user-created content, which already has a range of interesting options, although the whole is weighed down by poor optimization that still has a little way to go to unfold its full potential.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder isn't just a breath of fresh air for 2D platformers, it's a masterclass in how to update a game concept that's been a hit for more than three decades, and do it successfully, without losing the essence. A surprising platformer where the unexpected is the real star.
