6.5 / 10.0 - Bush Hockey League
Apr 7, 2022

Bush League Hockey got just about everything right except for the actual Hockey part, which is a shame because this is a charming arcade-style game but it's not something that I can see a lot of people wanting to play over long periods of time.

8 / 10.0 - Windjammers 2
Jan 20, 2022

Windjammers 2 is a fast and fun arcade style game that fans of the original and competitive vs games will enjoy. But the game is very light on single player content, so unless you want to play against others online or with friends, you probably won't get much out of the light arcade mode.

6.5 / 10.0 - Battlefield 2042
Nov 27, 2021

When Battlefield 2042 works, it works well and can be fun but it sadly feels like this game really should have been delayed again with all of its issues.

Despite a convoluted story filled with silly retcons and nonsense, it's still fun to play through to see the (for now) official ending to the original Mortal Kombat story. With 12 additional characters and tons of skins, Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is absolutely worth a buy for those who have yet to check out MK11. The new characters are still great additions to the roster for those who have experienced all the content since the beginning.

8.8 / 10.0 - Fuser
Dec 9, 2020

Harmonix shows once again why they are very good at what they do - making fun rhythm games.  Fuser is a fantastic music creation tool that is a ton of fun to play. Online battle modes are fun, when you can find people to play with. Fuser is something I will be playing for quite some time, if only to try and get five stars for all the campaign missions.

No Straight Roads has fantastic visuals, a phenomenal soundtrack, and lovable characters. It's a shame that the rest of the game doesn't hold up as well but I didn't regret my time with the game and will be replaying the boss fights many more times thanks to the fantastic music.

6.5 / 10.0 - Marvel's Avengers

A great campaign is pretty much the only thing that saves Marvel's Avengers from complete mediocrity.

7 / 10.0 - EA Sports UFC 4
Sep 17, 2020

EA UFC 4 takes a few steps forward with the changes in the fighting game but takes some back as well with the career mode which was bait and switched once again and barely has any significant upgrades.

6.5 / 10.0 - Rocket Arena

Rocket Arena shows a lot of promise but a there is a steep barrier to entry with the small amount of content it offers right now.

That said, Aftermath is a fantastic expansion to Mortal Kombat 11 that will keep the game alive and well for its second year, and will hopefully lead to more expansion packs with more characters in the future.

8 / 10.0 - Resident Evil 3
Apr 29, 2020

Resident Evil 3 is great game but not as good as Resident Evil 2 remake. To be fair, this is how I felt about the original Resident Evil 3 as well.

You can't really go wrong with this collection. You get two fantastic games that still hold up today at a fantastic price. If you are a fan of Platinum Games now, you owe it to yourself to check out these older titles. The only shame is that Bayonetta 2 is a Nintendo exclusive and Vanquish never got the sequel it deserved.

2 / 10.0 - WWE 2K20
Nov 14, 2019

Completely unacceptable. This game should have never been released in this state and it baffles me that this was even allowed to be sold at all. WWE 2K20 is by far the worst game released in the 20-year history of the mainline series of WWE Games.

Man of Medan starts out well enough but just falls apart towards the end leading up to a pretty anti-climatic ending thanks to a twist that was given away at the very beginning of the story. It's not terrible but it's not nearly as good as Until Dawn. Still, as a fan of Until Dawn, I still enjoyed the story for what it was but I didn't really have a desire to go back and play through it again after finishing it the first time.

Remnant is on my list of biggest surprises of 2019. I was apprehensive since I'm not a fan of Souls-like games, but this one is right up my alley. The combat is fantastic and it's even better when you are playing with others online.

9.5 / 10.0 - Ion Fury
Aug 14, 2019

Ion Fury made me feel like a kid again and it's not just nostalgia that makes the game great. The is classic run and gun FPS action at it's purest and despite running on 20 year old tech, it's still a hell of a lot of fun and is one of my favorite games of 2019 so far.

7.4 / 10.0 - Samurai Shodown
Jun 24, 2019

Hardcore fans of the series and the pro players will likely love Samurai Shodown. This game is gonna be great to watch and I suspect it will thrive in the FGC tournament scene. Unfortunately that while the fighting game part of it is great, the rest is a really barebones package that most likely won't hold the attention of others for an extended period of time.

8 / 10.0 - Mortal Kombat 11
Apr 22, 2019

Mortal Kombat 11 is a nice send off to the 25+ year story of the series and it's NetherRealms best fighting game to date. It's just unfortunate that almost all of the single player content had to be filled with ridiculous amounts of grinding, RNG loot drops and unfair, unbalanced challenges.

8 / 10.0 - Metro Exodus

While Last Year: The Nightmare shows a lot of promise, the game simply feels shallow at the moment. The game can be really fun at times but no progression, bugs and glitches and horrific balance issues can ruin all the fun.
