Critic Reviews for Lovecraft's Untold Stories 2
With clunky combat and poorly explained mechanics, Lovecraft's Untold Stories 2 fails to hit the mark in any meaningful way.
Unlike the first chapter, Lovecraft's Untold Stories 2 does not hit the mark, but at the counter it represents an obvious step backwards in many respects.

Lovecraft’s Untold Stories 2 has an inspired mix of narrative and presentation, with decent gameplay but somehow it is constantly under-delivering. There’s not enough madness to be found, players spend too much time picking stuff up rather than investigating weirdness, and the world is too normal to keep players moving forward.
Lovecraft's Untold Stories 2 has a bumpy start, but once you've surpassed that hiccup, it becomes a very decent game; you'll just have to endure an hour or two of learning things.
A very good idea that falls victim to an unbalanced gameplay. I'm so sorry for the game that is wasted under all that artificial difficulty. Still there is hope if it receives a few balancing patches.

Lovecraft's Untold Stories 2 is a game that should not have been released, even after being delayed multiple times. The developers secretly removed the cooperative feature, which is a sly move on their end. The game as it stands now is riddled with bugs, janky mechanics, quality of life issues, and should not be purchased as is. It is an insult to the fans of the first game.
Lovecraft Untold Stories 2 completely shifts its perspective and its core mechanics in comparison to its predecessor. Sadly, it’s for the worse. Poor enemy AI along with some beautiful, but busy visuals make this mix between roguelite and story a huge pass from me.

I found the game to be a frustrating, unenjoyable mess that failed both as an entertaining game and a Lovecraftian Horror experience, and ultimately in my view, Lovecraft’s Untold Stories 2 almost completely misses the mark and is, as a result, best left unplayed in its current form.
