Critic Reviews for Remorse: The List

Producing a sense of loss and vulnerability, Remorse: The List embraces bloody situations, images of explicit violence and grotesque dangers.

Remorse: The List is just another UE4 indie-horror from young developers, but still there is some charm in it.

I do appreciate the effort that went into Remorse: The List. The developers had a strong vision and did their best to execute on it. On a technical level, I also found it to be quite impressive for the Switch. There are much bigger games that struggle to lift to this visual and mechanical quality on that hardware. But, unfortunately, at the end of the day, this is a horror game where its enemies – which it relies on far too much to carry the experience – are more likely to make you giggle than sweat. That’s a death knell for any horror experience.

Remorse: The List is a game that needs to be on everyone's radar. Some little annoyances aside, the feelings you will get from this game, with its unique atmosphere and genuine spooks, make for a fantastic horror experience.

Remorse: The List has the potential to be a good addition to the Switch horror library, as it delivers a mysterious plot, satisfying puzzles to solve, and free exploration that fits the genre very well. Regrettably, this version does not appear to be complete, preventing me from progressing in the final minutes. Therefore, what remains is to hope that a future update will resolve this issue.
