Diablo III: Eternal Collection Reviews
Even without a character transfer feature, Diablo 3 continues to be a wonderful game that plays perfectly on the Nintendo Switch.
Diablo 3 is as much fun on the switch as on the big consoles, but much more mobile.

Diablo III: Eternal Collection is everything I could've asked for from a proper Switch port. The graphical downgrades are noticeable in handheld mode, but it doesn't detract from the experience at all, especially when it runs so smoothly.
It's Diablo 3 on the go! The added local multiplayer functionality and the fact that it's a thoroughly competent port make this an easy recommendation for fans of the franchise who want a portable version, or for newcomers who want to jump in.
Diablo 3 on the Switch may be a graphical step-down and far from the best place to play multiplayer, but if you're looking for the perfect platform on which to sink into the end-game grind by yourself – there is no place better to play it.
You know your beloved action franchise is in a state of mediocrity when it struggles to kinetically and strategically compete with games that it helped give birth to.
Diablo III is a comprehensive package on the Switch, but just not always the best way to play it all.
In short, Diablo III: Eternal Collection is a lovely port of a classic RPG loot-a-thon that keeps its feet firmly in the past. The execution is wonderful, but its gameplay is not something that will appeal to everyone due to the high level of repetition. Its visuals are clear and functional if not especially interesting, but performance is top notch to make up for it. If you're looking for a loot-driven grind-a-thon with more explosions of viscera than you can comfortably discuss with your mother, this is the game for you.
Diablo 3 makes its way to Nintendo's diminutive console and it's a perfect match. Now you can turn your commute into a demon-smashing extravaganza.
Diablo 3: Eternal Collection on the Nintendo Switch is a great game for old and new fans alike. Having the full Diablo 3 experience on the go is so very enticing, and is now my new preferred way to play the game. It's not the best looking Switch game out there; but with gameplay as satisfying as Diablo 3's, visuals be damned.
After six years and multiple releases, I must say the Switch version is probably the best way to play on consoles. Given the sheer amount of content and ability to play on the go, it makes this the definitive package to get for Switch. Regardless of whether you've played Diablo III before or not, I highly recommend getting it, even if some previous issues persist.
Diablo III: Eternal Collection for the Nintendo Switch represents the best way to play Diablo III right now, whether it be with friends or by yourself with whatever controllers you have. While the exclusive gear and equipment are superficial and not a sole reason to buy on the Switch, Diablo III is a perfect fit for the platform, as cliché as it sounds. Sure, it's starting to show signs of ageing, but it still plays as well today as it did all those years ago.
Dark Souls Remastered was a genuinely disappointing experience on the Switch for me. From the less precise and borderline clunky peripherals to the stuttery framerate and lower audiovisual quality, I really wouldn't say the Switch version is worth the caveats that come with it
Diablo 3: Eternal Collection is everything from the last five years squeezed into a portable package. It plays brilliantly whether docked or not, and has more content than you could ever see. This is a game that is a must-play and to have access to it anywhere is almost unbelievable.
Arguably the best version of an already fantastic game.
With all of the improvements already added in, seasons which give further incentive for players to start new characters, as well as the addition of the Necromancer class, this is without a doubt the definitive version of Diablo 3.
So, being able to take Diablo III with you wherever you go for a quick rift or bounty or two or three – is well-worth it.
As much as I love playing Diablo 3 on my PC, the Eternal Collection on Switch may very well be my new preferred way to play - nothing beats lounging in bed, romping through a rift with the light out while I should be sleeping - all thanks to Nintendo Switch and Blizzard Entertainment.
