A number of teaser images have been released for the Borderlands film.
On Twitter, teaser images were released for the upcoming Borderlands movie. The images are of the film's characters, though they are just silhouettes of them. The tweets came from both Jamie Lee Curtis and Borderlands creator Randy Pitchford. The images tease Dr. Patricia Tannis, Roland, Tiny Tina, Krieg, and ClapTrap. The images come soon after a tease for Lilith that was released earlier this week. While the silhouettes do not give us a good look at the characters, they do give us a rough idea of what to expect.
The Borderlands movie will feature a star-studded cast. The film will star Cate Blanchett as Lilith and Kevin Hart as Roland, two of the original Vault Hunters from the games. It will also star Jamie Lee Curtis as Dr. Patricia Tannis, Jack Black as ClapTrap, Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina, Florian Munteanu as Krieg, and Edgar Ramirez as Atlas. The movie is being directed by Eli Roth, and will be written by Chernobyl's Craig Mazin. Avi and Ari Arad will serve as producers for the film alongside Randy Pitchford.
The Borderlands movie will see Lilith, a Siren, return to her home planet of Pandora in order to find the missing daughter of Atlas. She will form an alliance with an unexpected team on her journey: Roland, a former mercenary; Tiny Tina, a pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg, Tina's musclebound protector; Tannis, a scientist with a very loose grip on sanity; and ClapTrap, an ever annoying robot. This team will have to battle the dangers of Pandora to find and protect Atlas' daughter, who may be the wielder of unimaginable power. While the fate of the universe may be in their hands, they will fight for something else: each other.
The most recent Borderlands game, Borderlands 3, is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia. The Borderlands film is expected to release in 2022.
