Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice has received an upgrade on the Xbox Series X/S.
A new update has been released for Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice that gives the game a boost on the Xbox Series X/S. According to the announcement post, the update is free for all Xbox gamers, and is available to those who play the title through Xbox Game Pass. Along with the announcement and release of the update, a trailer was released showing off the upgrade, which can be seen here.
Hellblade's upgrade will allow gamers to choose from three different graphical modes: Performance, Resolution, and Enriched. For both the Series X and Series S, The Performance and Resolution options will not include ray tracing, though Enriched will. For the Series X, Performance will provide a dynamic resolution up to 1080p, while the other two modes will provide dynamic resolution up to 4K. Performance will provide a framerate of 120 HZ fps, Resolution will provide 60 fps, and Enriched will feature 30 fps. For the Series S, the Performance and Enriched modes will provide full HD resolution. Resolution mode will support up to 1440p resolution. Performance mode will offer 60 fps, while the other two modes will run at 30 fps.
It was revealed that a graphical update for Hellblade is currently in the works for PC. However, there was no announcement of when gamers can expect the upgrade to drop. It was also revealed that there are no plans to bring the update to any other consoles at the time of writing. It was also stated that the graphical upgrade has not affected the development of Hellblade's sequel, Senua's Saga: Hellblade II.
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch. The game's sequel, Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, is currently in development.
