Mortal Kombat 1 has revealed a new skin for Sub-Zero, with the costume being based on his classic appearance in the 1995 Mortal Kombat film. Mortal Kombat 1's first Kombat Pack includes six DLC characters, featuring a mix of returning characters like Ermac and guest characters like Omni-Man and Homelander. The final returning character of the Kombat Pack is Takeda Takahashi, a beloved fan favorite who is returning from Mortal Kombat X.
Takeda Takahashi will be added to Mortal Kombat 1 on July 23, with this being his second playable appearance in a mainline game since Mortal Kombat X. Formerly the son of the blind swordsman Kenshi, Takeda was inducted into Scorpion's Shirai Ryu clan, and used a mixture of ninja-styled tools and modern technology. The new version of Takeda introduced in Mortal Kombat 1 revamps his backstory, but keeps most of his proficiency with the Shirai Ryu's fighting style and whip weapons. Takeda was recently the focus of a KombatKast livestream, which showcased his abilities, but NetherRealm Studios had one last surprise before the stream was over: a quick showcase of Takeda fighting Sub-Zero, with the latter wearing a new costume.
