Hell Clock is easy to recommend to players who want a solid, enjoyable, and polished roguelike, but it's definitely not the lightning in a bottle that will reinvent the tried and true genre.
A flawed but charming treasure hunt that offers a relaxing escape, perfect for moments when you just want to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures of gaming.
Fretless is a fun experience! I enjoyed my time with the game and if you are a fan of musical based games and turn based RPGs, I believe you will also enjoy this hidden gem.
MADO MONOGATARI: Fia and the Wondrous Academy delivers a dynamic mystery dungeon experience filled with comedy. Moving around while fighting and launching magical attacks immerses you in the action. There’s a learning curve with a long tutorial that holds back some of the concepts. Give the game time to show its potential and you will have a memorable adventure.
Donkey Kong Bananza is a one-of-a-kind experience. I truly believe that Donkey Kong Bananza is another masterpiece from Nintendo. In the years to come, I can see this game being regarded as a classic, and that's a rare distinction for many games.
Wild Hearts S offers enjoyable gameplay reminiscent of its 2023 release on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. The co-op mode during battles significantly enhances the experience. However, Wild Hearts S missed the chance to take advantage of the newly released console, making it feel like a rushed port for the Switch 2.
If Tripwire wants to salvage this, it will take more than patches. It will require humility, serious reworking of core systems, and a willingness to actually listen to the community that helped build this franchise in the first place. But until that happens, Killing Floor 3 is nothing more than a cautionary tale about how not to follow up a cult hit.
Overall, Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound is both a loving tribute and a fresh vision brimming with style and substance. It’s one of the best retro revivals of the generation: joyous, relentlessly fun, and bursting with creative confidence. Its only missteps are some shallow progression systems and a slightly softened edge to its difficulty.
Leenzee Games has created an ambitious debut that, for all its rough edges, manages to be a solid contender in the Soulslike genre. Atmospheric and challenging, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers captures the essence of what makes these games enduringly popular, even as it struggles with uneven balance, difficulty spikes, and poor technical performance.
Wheel World is a gorgeous and creative game with a soul, even if that soul is a little lost. It tries to say something big, but the message gets tangled in the spokes. The biking is fun, the customization is deep, and the world is worth exploring. The story? That might depend on how willing you are to suspend your disbelief.
Monument Valley has never been about difficulty. These games are more about presence than challenge, more about feeling than frustration. Monument Valley 3 continues that philosophy while pushing its boundaries outward. It doesn’t reinvent the formula entirely, but it evolves it in quiet, confident ways. As a standalone experience, it offers a deeply satisfying journey filled with moments of awe. As part of the series, it represents a thoughtful growth that respects its past while seeking new shores.
My Friendly Neighborhood is a creative and memorable adventure that balances its kid friendly exterior with real depth, wit, and polish. While it doesn’t redefine survival horror, it stands as an example of what innovative ambition and personality can achieve in an oversaturated market. Not everything needs to be a P.T. walking simulator clone!
Beatable brings a creative, enjoyable experience to the table best enjoyed with friends. Being able to use your desk or a table as a controller really gives you a chance to feel like you're physically doing something. XR Games has done an excellent job at producing an interactive rhythm game in a landscape of many giants.
Despite its occasional technical shortcomings, I think Bygone Dreams is a great, action-filled RPG romp for diehard fans of the genre. It’s also easy to recommend for those who are curious about soulslikes but who want an easier experience. Of course, those aforementioned and often sadistic diehards can enjoy a greater degree of challenge by unlocking harder difficulties and challenges.
PATAPON 1+2 REPLAY isn’t trying to reinvent the series. It doesn’t need to. These two games stand tall as some of the most original titles ever made for a handheld, and they work just as well now with a controller in hand and the volume up. It’s a love letter to fans and a gateway drug for newcomers. The drums are calling. The tribe is waiting. And the beat goes on.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is a content rich package that delivers hours of addictive gameplay and arcadey old school fun. Its technical polish, responsive controls, and lovingly recreated levels make it an essential experience for both veterans and newcomers. Yet, the mishandling of Pro Skater 4’s campaign and the gutted soundtrack prevent it from achieving true greatness.
No Sleep For Kaname Date does not try to be a full sequel, and that works in its favor. It is a focused, gripping side story that builds on everything that made AI: The Somnium Files memorable. Longtime fans will appreciate the returning cast and deeper lore, while newcomers might find it a weird but fascinating entry point. It is not as sprawling or thematically rich as nirvanA Initiative, but it offers a more compact, puzzle-heavy experience that still packs a punch. At its core, this is a game about dreams, delusions, and the connections that transcend reality. It is all wrapped in a murder mystery involving aliens, sentient eyeballs, and idol songs. If that sounds like your kind of strange, don’t sleep on it.
I definitely think that hardcore RPG fans will find a lot to enjoy with this game. For fans of the series, it might be worth revisiting as well. The jump to HD might appeal to some, however, there’s something to be said about the loss of the game’s nostalgic, chunky pixels on the 3DS. I looked up various pieces of gameplay for comparison’s sake, and character models look significantly worse in HD thanks to their rough polygons that were made for a specific system. Then again, longtime fans might love to see the game they know so well in a new light! As a newcomer myself, I wasn’t terribly impressed. While the combat is just fine and the job system offers neat combinations, I found the story and its characters so crushingly uninteresting that I started to dread picking up my Switch 2 to continue the journey. Thankfully, the gorgeous music is available for streaming, as I don’t plan to revisit Luxendarc anytime soon.
While Warside doesn’t rewrite the rules of turn-based tactics, it does a fantastic job of polishing and modernizing them. The pacing is tight, the strategic depth is strong, and the tools it offers players , from custom maps to faction variety , ensure that it never overstays its welcome. Whether you’re a grizzled tactics veteran or a newcomer curious about the genre, Warside offers a compelling and addicting battlefield to master.
By the end of the adventure, you’ll feel like you’ve made memories, not just completed objectives. With its handcrafted style, joyful mechanics, clever puzzles, and heartfelt characters, Ruffy and the Riverside stands as one of the most charming and memorable platformers in recent memory.
