The Casting of Frank Stone feels like a squandered opportunity in the end. Even though it combines the interactive horror formula of Supermassive with the lore of Dead by Daylight, the game fails to stand out. The atmospheric elements and tense moments are sometimes there, but the experience is ruined by a plot that lacks action, simplistic combat, and a complete lack of scares. Learning the lore might be entertaining for hardcore fans of Dead by Daylight. But for most, this is just a watered-down version of Supermassive’s earlier, more influential games. If you’ve already played either Until Dawn or The Quarry, then this experience will feel lack luster to you. The Casting of Frank Stone is a somewhat decent Halloween horror game, but it falls short in the ‘I need a change of underwear’ department.
Without a doubt, Copycat is a masterpiece of narrative-driven gaming, featuring a story that will tug at your heartstrings and leave you emotionally invested. It is a game that is deeply Australian yet universally relatable, and one that will leave you still crying, long after the credits roll.
While the story remains just as captivating as it was back in 2012, Chainsaw Lollipop Repop ultimately feels like little more than a way to re-experience the original on modern hardware. Unfortunately, the remaster doesn’t offer enough substantial updates to make it feel like a truly refreshed experience. Instead, it often feels like you’re running the game through an emulator rather than playing a fully optimized version for today’s systems. The lack of significant improvements in gameplay, visuals, or technical performance makes it hard to see this as anything beyond a straightforward port.
Overall, Crossy Road Castle can be a very addicting game as you’ll want to beat your latest score constantly. The idea of not knowing what will come through the next door is one of the more thrilling aspects of the game. The best way to play this game, in my opinion, is to play Solo. If you’re looking for something new to play on a console, Crossy Road Castle should be on your list.
For fans who grew up with the Rugrats crew, this game is a delightful blast of ’90s nostalgia. However, much like a brief episode of the beloved cartoon, the game feels a bit too short, leaving players wanting more of the inventive worlds and endearing characters that made their childhood memorable. Despite its nostalgic charm, the game’s brief duration compared to its price tag feels like getting a Reptar cereal box only to find it half full. The sense of adventure is enjoyable but ends too soon to justify the cost, making it seem like a bit of a rip-off compared to the rich, expansive experiences one might expect from a pricier title. It’s a fun nostalgia trip, but it might leave you wishing for the epic, lasting adventures that made the original show so special.
Age of Mythology: Retold stands as the ultimate way to experience a beloved classic, combining the timeless appeal of the original game with a host of modern enhancements. With its refreshed graphics, expanded gameplay mechanics, and a wealth of new content, this edition not only pays homage to the game that captivated millions but also reinvents it for a new generation of players. The inclusion of new gods, like Freyr, and the Legacy Deity Portrait Pack enrich the nostalgic experience, while the promise of upcoming expansions adds exciting new dimensions to the mythological universe.
Visually, NBA 2K25 is stunning, and the adrenaline-pumping soundtrack keeps the energy high throughout each game. With so much content to dive into, it’s a must-pickup for anyone with even a passing interest in basketball.
Team ASOBI did an outstanding job with Astro Bot, a delightful yet playful platformer that is sure to capture the hearts of many gamers and one that I found difficult to put down once I started playing. Its innovative use of the DualSense controller, stunning visual design, engaging audio, and charming narrative make it pure bliss to play and most definitely give Nintendo a run for their money!
All in all, Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 provides a satisfyingly challenging experience that meshes gunplay, mobbing strategy, “offensive” defense, and classic RPG progression into one spectacular bundle. The RPG progression made for a rewarding grind, but the experience was not varied enough for me to want to grind and explore through multiple classes. However, the core gameplay itself was enjoyable for me to complete one full character progression end to end.
Mika and the Witch’s Mountain is undeniably a love letter to the past, much like A Hat in Time was just a few years ago. Both games masterfully capture the essence of old-school platformers, blending that nostalgic charm with modern touches that elevate the experience for today’s players. Whether you view it as an homage or a close relative to A Hat in Time, the game’s undeniable charm, from its whimsical characters to its enchanting world, creates a cozy, feel-good adventure that’s hard to resist. Despite its clear similarities, Mika and the Witch’s Mountain carves out enough originality to stand on its own and is undoubtedly a must-play for fans of magical tales and nostalgic platformers.
Star Wars Outlaws is visually stunning, but beneath its beauty, there are some rough edges. Despite these flaws, I remain optimistic that Star Wars Outlaws will improve significantly with further updates and community feedback. There’s a lot of potential for growth, especially with possible DLCs and patches.
While Concord has a long way to go before it can be considered a competitor to the likes of Overwatch or Valorant, it shouldn’t be written off entirely. With continued post-launch support, balancing updates, and a commitment to addressing player feedback, Concord could potentially grow into a respectable entry in the team-based FPS genre. However, as it stands now, it remains an unfinished product with more promise than delivery. There’s still time for Concord to rise to the challenge and prove itself, but it needs serious improvements to match the lofty ambitions and expectations set forth by its creators.
While Crypt Custodian might not be the most advanced Metroidvania game, and might not have the strongest story, the game brings extra flair and style from its cute graphics and fun side mission of cleaning up the palace, which helps set it apart and make it not just like any other Metroidvania game.
Monster Jam Showdown is what fans of the live-event motorsport have been craving for. Everything about this game properly showcases what monster trucks are all about. Some of its downsides are the repetitive content and lack of variety in environments. This is a great start for Monster Jam.
Farewell North is a cathartic experience—a reminder that grief, while overwhelming, can be transformed into something beautiful. The game doesn’t shy away from the pain of loss, but it also shows that healing, though slow and difficult, is possible when surrounded by love, memories, and the unbreakable bond between a dog and their human.
The latest update to Hunt: Showdown 1896 introduces a host of exciting enhancements. Players can now explore the expansive and intricately detailed Mammon’s Gulch, where the upgraded visuals significantly enhance the map’s appearance. They can challenge themselves by conquering the Hellborn, the newest fiery Wild Target. The Scorched Earth event offers new weekly challenges for additional rewards. Players can also experiment with the updated ballistics in the shooting range to refine their skills before applying them in the field. Finally, they can enjoy the improved performance and visuals, particularly when taking in the breathtaking mountain vistas and water features.
While the upgraded graphics look amazing, and the adaptation to English and Simplified Chinese are great things, there isn’t anything else to make the game “Remastered”, For this is a visual novel, and there aren’t any mechanics or anything to remaster as the games mostly dialogue and visuals. While the price isn’t the worst, for a remaster with no real added content or value versus the original, it is hard to justify the remaster versus finding the original for cheap. However, in my opinion, the story itself is one of the top visual novels I’ve played and helps this game score high.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Into the Pit is an excellent retro-horror experience perfect for those unfamiliar with the franchise, while dedicated FNAF fans will also enjoy Mega Cat Studios’ creation. While it’s a short game, there’s plenty of replayability, and its $20 price tag is a steal

Aarik and the Ruined Kingdom shines as a captivating isometric adventure, seamlessly combining exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat within a visually striking world. While its story and camera mechanics could use some polishing, the game’s breathtaking presentation and rich atmosphere make it a must-have for fans of the puzzle-adventure genre.
