Developer Purple Lamp successfully brings the Wii original into the year 2024 with mostly fully new graphics that (more or less) make the remake look like a current production. The action adventure is too undemanding for a must-have. But with its creative gameplay and as an atmospheric Homage to Disney classics it's worth buying not simply for fans of the original.

If you liked Dead Rising then you will love Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. It’s still just as much fun to take out hordes of zombies using a stack of CDs, a giant parasol or various gardening tools. Compared to the original “Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster” is a much smoother and painless experience. This might be a problem for the people who already adore that game. For everybody else it makes it simply much more enjoyable. While the auto-save can be largely ignored if you want, there is no way around having a much easier time while taking calls from Otis or using guns. Being able to save and skip time in the bonus mode on the other is probably something that everybody will be happy about.

The Plucky Squire is a charming, funny and beautiful action-adventure. It oozes creativity and merges 2D- and 3D-gameplay to a clever action-plattformer. While the game does have issues regarding controls and pacing, the overall experience is great.

The announcement of an official modding tool alone is likely to bring tears of joy to the eyes of "Frostpunk" fans. The setting remains attractive, the artwork and gameplay are equally clever, even if the novelty value has worn off a bit. But everything is now bigger, more complex and more impressive, and it is remarkable how smoothly 11 bit has interlocked the various elements and made them shine. There is always something to do in "Frostpunk 2", even if the feeling of a living game world, as one is used to from "Anno 1800", is missing here simply because of the thematic requirements. Anyone who wants an extraordinary experience and some real gaming challenges will feel at home in the eternal ice.

Enotria: The Last Song tends to get lost in its own ambitions. While it breathes fresh air into the grim and hopeless apocalypses souls-likes tend to portray, the additions to the combat and character customization tend to weigh it down. Despite a generally more forgiving difficulty than many other titles, the sheer volume of things to keep track of make this a souls-like best suited for fans of the genre.

Caravan SandWitch definitely has its heart in the right place and impresses first and foremost with its interesting world and pleasantly relaxed atmosphere. However, uninspired missions and various technical errors hinder this charming adventure game from fully developing its undoubted potential.

"Akimbot" is a love letter to the early platformers of the Playstation 2, you can see that in every minute of play. Even if the game doesn't manage to completely capture the charm of the past, it still offers enough fun moments. "Akimbot" doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it doesn't have to, as there is currently little to no modern competition in this genre. In any case, we are looking forward to the developer's next project, because there is a lot of potential for a future hit here.

Looks like NBA 2K finally gets back on track: While problem like the microtransactions remain omnipresent, the overall gameplay was been refined. Once you got used to the changes, NBA 2K25 is a damn good basketball-simulation.

Astro Bot is just one of the best platformers of recent years. The high variety of gameplay and setting, precise controls, great boss fights and several wonderful references to famous PlayStation video games, the game is a need to play for any genre fan with a PS5.

Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 sets a new standards not only for games set in the 41st Millennia, but also for horde based shooters. The innovative combat system that cleverly builds upon the foundation of the 13 years old predecessor shows incredible depth when mixing different weapon styles. Together with an entertaining, albeit narratively shallow campaign and a wealth of customization for co-op players, this game is every Warhammer 40k fans dream come true.

Gory: Cuddly Carnage is cute and a bloody good time. It’s a fast and brutal 3rd-Person action game that excels in its fight and high speed chases. Unfortunately the camera is often fighting against the player which makes some of the later fights exhausting as well as precision platforming unnecessarily difficult. Gori is a lovable protagonist though and thanks to the fast paced levels it won’t get boring despite its technical issues.

"Age of Mythology: Retold" not only makes an already highly fun game shine in a largely contemporary look, but also adds many useful improvements, first and foremost the reusable god powers, the villager priority system, significantly more accessibility options and a really well thought-out controller control.

In terms of presentation, "Emio" also does well thanks to lovingly designed backgrounds, numerous animated cutscenes and the beautiful soundtrack. Nevertheless, we would have liked to see a little more dynamics, i.e. animated background objects, in some scenes - such as the train station of Kofuku. If you can overlook this shortcoming, the genre-typical rather shallow gameplay challenges and the lack of English voice acting, you will still get your money's worth.

Visions of Mana scores above all with its charming look and loveable characters. The new elemental powers are also quite impressive. Although various facets prevent the action RPG from unleashing its full potential, the return of the legendary game series is a success overall.

Star Wars Outlaws isn't a high-flyer both, as an open world action game and a Star Wars title. For that, the game is too usual in combat, stealth or world design. But Massive Entertainment still does a god job with a high variety in gameplay, an interesting, versatile story and with a friendly main hero and not at last one of the most loveable sidekicks in gaming history.

Concord isn't a bad game. It's a solid hero-shooter with appropriate gunplay and movement. With the right squad by your side, the 5v5-matches are solid fun. Yet again, Concord plays it very safe and doesn't stand out in any department against free-to-play-competitors like Valorant or Apex Legends.

Bleak Faith: Forsaken is a game with a very strong vision. It puts players in a world almost comically oversized with no direction and just the sound of footsteps on metal floors. Later an impressive orchestral soundtrack paints a picture of a past long decayed while players are left alone, disoriented and lost. While combat is mostly mediocre, Bleak Faith: Forsaken has managed to capture the atmosphere of Warhammer 40k and the very first Dark Souls and somehow has woven them together into something new.

The design, the creatures, Ava herself and the story are imaginative, profound, beautiful and thought-provoking. In the first few hours of the game, it is incredibly fun to discover new animals, tame them and save them. This part is loosened up by shallow puzzles and a few jumping passages. However, this feeling quickly wears off and it feels more like you just have to tick off a few mission objectives in a game. The combat system is not very entertaining due to the camera and variety is only written in capital letters in terms of environment and design. "Creatures of Ava" can entertain for a few hours and having a game without violence and instead a nice message is definitely very desirable.

As an overall package “Dustborn” is an absolute delight. Believable and lovable characters are combined with an intriguing story and a wild mix of gameplay variation. While the combat is mediocre and gets stale quick, the variety of little vignettes is outstanding. The voice acting is stellar and the music might be more Pop-Punk than Punk-Rock which doesn’t make it any less awesome.

As a package Super Woden GP II is an absolute love letter to the last three decades of racing games. It offers smooth and fun racing as well as a ton of tracks and cars. It is old-school by design, with all its pros and cons. Thankfully the gameplay is as good as it is because the menus are frankly a bit of a mess and the AI of the other drivers is stubborn and destructive. Yet it is a great racing game for a low price from a clearly talented developer that loves the genre, warts and all.
