Nintendo showcased Pokemon Sword and Shield during the Pokemon Direct streaming event earlier today. We learned a lot more about the game, including its Switch release date of November 15, 2019! The release will be global and all regions will be able to get started right away.
We learned a few other things as well:
- the Dynamax system makes Pokemon much larger than ever before. These can be used once per battle and lasts three turns
- Max Raids are similar to Pokemon Go-type raids where up to four players can work cooperatively to take on a Dynamax-sized boss. Wild Dynamax fights change according to weather and area
- Zamazenta and Zacian are legendary creatures and are shown on the box art
- Fans can purchase each game separately or in a "dual pack" for $60 (standard edition)
