Super Mario Bros. Wonder is one of the best two-dimensional platformers ever made in the history of video games, and probably the best in the franchise along with the historic Super Mario World. The gameplay constantly surprises, the environments are magnificent, and Nintendo has worked hard to keep the title fresh with its gimmicks and innovations. This is no mere sequel to the New saga, but a fresh start. And also a triumph.

Astro didn't just save the ship's passengers but also PlayStation 2024. The work signed by Team Asobi is indeed a true demonstration of love for the Sony brand and for those looking for a fun and engaging platformer (all the more so if you have a good video game history memory). The only ones who might turn their noses up at it are those who demand a significant degree of difficulty from a platform game. Nevertheless, in our opinion Astro Bot is a must-buy for all PS5 owners.

Hi-Fi Rush lands on PlayStation 5 bringing with it all the glittering baggage that allowed it to enter the hearts of thousands last year on Xbox and PC. Tango Gameworks' stunning game fully represents everything an entertainment product should do, which is to entertain. Despite some flaws in terms of level design, the title deserves to be played by all those who love action and music, perfectly blended here.

Night Springs is content that fits perfectly with the universe created by Remedy and Alan Wake 2. All three episodes are characterised by deep and charismatic characters that, despite their short longevity, manage to leave a positive impression on the user, thanks also to the superb writing that the Finnish company has accustomed us to by now. Considering the budget price of the Deluxe Edition, we can do no other than recommend the package to all those who loved the latest adventure of the most famous writer in video games.

Split Fiction is the perfect definition of love for video games. The creative spirit of Josef Fares and the Hazelight team sees in this new interaction a crystallisation that is bound to remain vivid in the minds of those who approach it. Despite the fact that some sections are more ‘naughty’ for those who are not into video games, the work published by EA Originals deserves to be started by any PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC owner.

Borderlands 4 is, without a doubt, the rebirth of the saga. Gearbox has listened to the community, recapturing the spirit of Borderlands 2 and correcting the mistakes of the third instalment. The result is a fresh, chaotic, fun and damn Borderlands title. Sure, a few technical hiccups mar its perfection, but they don't detract too much from an experience that manages to balance narrative, gameplay and artistic direction with a maturity that the saga has long needed. If you loved Borderlands 2 and were disappointed by its successor, Borderlands 4 will help you rediscover that lost magic, amplified by new mechanics and a game world that never ceases to amaze.

The technical evolution of Hellblade 2 has been a success. Ninja Theory has managed to craft a revamped and refined version of last year's already impressive title. While there are obviously still divisive factors regarding the concept and gameplay devised by the British studio, Senua's adventure is worth experiencing for anyone looking for a short but intense experience, now more than ever.

Cronos: The New Dawn is the work that marks Bloober Team's true evolutionary leap. Despite obvious inspirations from pioneering titles in the genre, the Polish company's new IP manages to engage and offer original mechanics, including the ingenious union of enemies. Leaving aside a few animations that are not yet up to scratch and checkpoint management that could be improved, we feel compelled to reward the guys from Krakow and can't wait to see what they have in store for us in the future.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden marks the full evolution of Don't Nod. Thanks to the appreciable alchemy between the narrative component and the gameplay, the new effort from the transalpine house is engaging and exciting. Although the world map is not particularly incisive and some technical issues are slightly revisable, the path taken by the French guys is undoubtedly the right one.

Tormented Souls 2 confirms that Dual Effect is not a flash in the pan, but a solid presence on the indie horror scene. The Chilean team has deeply understood what makes a survival horror game memorable: the atmosphere, the vulnerability and the gratification of overcoming the impossible. Despite some stiffness in the controls and some limitations in interactivity, the title remains an experience of rare intensity. It is a journey into terror that does not just scare, but reminds the player why survival horror is, first and foremost, a test of nerves and dedication.
