9.5 / 10.0 - Transistor
May 20, 2014

Players looking for a very artistic world with unique narration and an amazing soundtrack, you have just found it. Strategy fans will have a great time taking on the combat, and anyone looking for a great game for $20 should not pass this up. Transistor has the style along with the game play that makes this a must own for many.

Even if the player interaction has been toned down, there are still some really great things to see and do in Episode 3. It is a gruesome ride that is full of peril, difficult decisions and some great moments. If you have already invested time and money into Season 2, keep going; it is well worth it. If you haven't picked up the full season or are thinking about starting it up, do yourself a favor and do it already.

For all intents and purposes, Van Helsing II is more of the same. It just so happens that "same" is really, really good. Action RPG players should not pass this game up, and dungeon crawling fans looking for a satisfying loot and stat game need look no further.

For $13, players looking for a unique experience will find it here. Keep in mind, there is some trial and error platforming awaiting would-be players that can get nerve-racking after a while, and some of the dialog delivery is off, but the world itself is colorful and interesting and while it may be delivered slightly off at times, the story is rather interesting.

For a game, Murdered: Soul Suspect feels far too simplistic. There's not much of a challenge as far as puzzles go in both the investigations and in the demon stalking sections. The look and feel of the game was the stand out for me, and the story and characters were where I got my enjoyment. It's a great story with mysteries, ghost tales, and thoughts of the afterlife.

Overall, for $10, Intercept is a pretty fun mode. I will say, if you plan on picking it up, make sure you have a few people to play with. Playing this solo or with only two players can be very challenging. Still, if you're looking for more Killzone, or if you want to jump back into it, this is a really fun mode to play and it's well worth the money.

6.5 / 10.0 - Blue Estate
Jul 8, 2014

Blue Estate is not a bad game, and some of the things it does using the DualShock 4 are interesting, but for all intents and purposes it's a light gun game that will last players a short time, and it's a rather expensive one at that. I would recommend it, but at a nice sales price.

The dialog is clever, and uses many pop culture and video game references that made me smile. That, along with the wonderful art style and fantastic soundtrack, makes it a very good deal for only $15. It has some big difficulty spikes, but overall Guacamelee is still a very fun time.

Of course, fans of the series still need to pick this episode up, and from looking back at the entire season, this is still a decent addiction to an already great series. Just keep in mind, you can't save everybody, and even if you try, don't be surprised if someone dies anyway. This is The Walking Dead after all.

Of course, I would have to recommend this game to the One Piece fans. It is possibly the best One Piece game out there, and most certainly the best one I have played. Yes, the camera is a wild animal that sometimes refuses to be tamed and the simplistic combat can get slightly boring at times, but the amount of different content mixed with tons of different characters makes it an interesting game to try out, even for non-One Piece fans. It's just a decent game overall.

7 / 10.0 - Sacred 3
Aug 5, 2014

For 30 bucks, Sacred 3 is a decent beat 'em up that you and a few friends can have a fun time with if you look past the Sacred name.

I guess my review boils down to is Firefall worth your time and hard drive space? Yes. If you stick with it for a couple of hours, you may come away somewhat impressed.

Even with the problems it has, I still think it's worth any RPG fan's time.

If you haven't played Diablo III before and are interested, do yourself a favor and get this. You will have at least 30 hours if not more just in the main content. Diablo III was a fantastic game to begin with, and Blizzard has just refined it once again, making this the best version to have.

I'm not saying Surgeon Simulator is a bad game. I mean, it is, but it's supposed to be. The game is interesting in multiple ways, but in the end, I found myself enjoying about three hours of it and then deciding I didn't have the time or the patience to do some of the later surgeries. Still, it is a decently fun time running through it for the first time. Just keep in mind, the novelty wears off faster than the anesthesia.

If you've played the previous episodes in this season, yes, you really should buy this final episode. If you're still holding out for season two, do yourself a favor and pick it up. It's a tragic, surprising and entertaining ride.

9 / 10.0 - Velocity 2X
Sep 3, 2014

Velocity X2 has a lot going for it. It still has that addicting game play, and it's still a fast game that is easy to pick up and play. The new mechanics are interesting, and even when I found them a little daunting at times, I still had a blast with the overall game play. It's fast, fun, and still addicting.

7 / 10.0 - Runers
Sep 9, 2014

The difficulty can be daunting at times, and combined with a control scheme that can be a difficult one to master, it can get the better of some players. Still, for only $9.99, you'll get a lot of game in a little package, and if you take your time, can have a good time with it.

Dead Rising fans will get more out of it than someone who hasn't played the series, but even with the camera and navigation problems, I still had a decent time hacking up some zombies with insane weapons. Just keep in mind; it can be cumbersome at times.

While Kickbeat is sound and technically works very well, and while the song selection can be questionable, there are a few standouts. Unfortunately, there's just not enough here to keep many people playing after doing the full story once unless you're looking for a big challenge. For a single play through of the story, it's alright, but for lasting appeal, it really doesn't have it.
