5.5 / 10.0 - Infinity Runner
Apr 30, 2015

I had fun with the game in limited capacity, but overall every time I was getting into the grove, the lack of lives or just the boring story took me out of it. Granted there are a few other modes besides the story, including a true endless runner mode which I got the most fun out of, but it's ultimately a game that I wanted to enjoy more then I actually did.

8.5 / 10.0 - Lifeless Planet

Lifeless Planet is an absolute gem. While there might not be much reason to replay the game other than to re-experience the adventure, it's one experience I won't soon forget.

6.5 / 10.0 - Mega Coin Squad
May 28, 2015

If you're looking for fun game to play with others, this might provide it in small doses. Yet in a game that wants players to save every coin, you might want to do that before deciding if you want to spend yours.

Badlands offers local co-op, multiplayer, and a ton of levels to keep players going, yet it feels like a game made for quick access, and I found myself getting rather bored after 30 minutes of play. On a mobile system this game feels right at home with in its casual play time, but I can't help but feel a little alienated with it on consoles.

I wasn't left feeling dead cold after finishing, it and I appreciated the simplistic nature to the game. Minimal frustration, some nice exploration, and able to be finished in a single sitting if you have a few hours to spare. This ghost story isn't the most memorable, but it doesn't have to be. Whispering Willows was an enjoyable time, and for those that like a decent story, side scrolling exploration, and the idea of talking to ghosts, I'd recommend it.

9 / 10.0 - Quiplash
Jul 6, 2015

Otherwise, Quiplash provided tons of laughter and its ease of use makes it pick up and playable by almost anyone. The ability to stream and get people in the game is another great feature and really can liven up any party, online or off. Just like in real life though, who you bring to the party will determine just how crazy it ultimately gets.

6.5 / 10.0 - Traverser

If you like the idea of a gravity gun and you enjoy puzzle games with unique settings, Traverser is a no brainer, even though you'll need to use yours to finish it.

7.5 / 10.0 - Tachyon Project
Jul 16, 2015

Tachyon Project seems to take a lot of inspiration from Geometry Wars but puts its own spin on things. Taking cues from one of the best twin stick shooters ever made, isn't a bad thing in the slightest.

If you love exploration, mystery, even a sense of wonder and awe, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter provides all this and more. For the 4 to 6 hours the game lasts, it's definitely a memorable experience.

7 / 10.0 - Godzilla

[W]hile Godzilla might be an average game in many ways, it's also a very faithful Godzilla experience, and one that fans and will treasure having in their collection.

I could go on and on about how much I love Kings Quest, so I will. King's Quest is the surprise hit of 2015 so far. Chapter one is filled with so many exciting moments, fun puzzles, hilarious characters, and a unique sense of awe and fantasy. I felt like I was in a wonderfully animated cartoon based on a classic series and I couldn't stop smiling or laughing the entire time.

Story elements in episode one don't miss a beat, and things get much darker and twisted then I ever expected. Before I knew it, I had already played and finished the game in 100 minutes, and it left me wanting more. Blues and Bullets was a title I had very little expectations of, and it blew me away with a fantastic first episode. Now I wait with baited breath, a glass of whiskey, and the hope that each episode here on out is only more of the same quality or better.

8 / 10.0 - Victor Vran
Aug 6, 2015

If you're a fan of isometric RPGs and action, I think the choice is pretty clear, we have a winner. Victor Vran might be a title that gets judged before people really get their hands on it. I'll admit, I had no idea what the game was like and by just looking at it, seemed typical. Yet the amount of fun the game offers, providing players with more agility and faster action, really gives a sense of control some isometric games don't deliver. I was thoroughly impressed with Victor Vran, and I think most others will be too.

Commander Cherry is a niche title and one that most likely won't get a lot of love simply because people will judge it for the art design alone, yet it has some limited but fun moments. I can't stress enough how important your living room set up is needed for the camera to register players though, otherwise the game simple can't be played. Otherwise if you looking for something a bit different and unique that gets you off the couch and laughing with your friends, Commander Cherry might just be for you.

9 / 10.0 - Until Dawn
Aug 24, 2015

Sometimes funny, sometimes cheesy, sometimes downright scary and tense as hell, Until Dawn is one wild ride, and while not everyone will think it's worth the entry price, I couldn't be happier with the end results.

The remake is a fantastic trip down memory lane, bringing arguable the best Gears of War game back and better than ever. If you already own an Xbox One and enjoyed the franchise, this is a must have title. I expect some will be jumping on board in purchasing the system just for this title alone, and I wouldn't blame them in the slightest.

7.5 / 10.0 - ZOMBI
Aug 25, 2015

It's not a totally different game or remake, but it doesn't have to be. Zombi is still one of the best survival horror games of this generation. It's tense, split second decisions can make the difference between life and death, and inventory management is a must, a feature sorely lacking in most horror games these days. Every bullet counts, every health item matters, and Zombi still offers a fantastic time for those that never experienced it originally – and now at a great price.

Trine 3 is an absolutely charming and wonderful game. If you have two other friends and want to play this together, it's absolutely a must. Even with its shorter game time, the amount of fun and charm you'll have with friends can't be beat.
