Persona 5 Strikers is much more of an action RPG than it is a straight Musou but it still manages to pull in the best of both worlds. The fun combat system and a fantastic cast of characters more than makes up any of the game's issues.

Life is Strange Episode 2 stumbles a bit in continuing the momentum it built up in the previous episode by introducing some needlessly mundane activities and slow story pacing, but the scenarios found near the end of the episode more than makes up for any missteps. It was great to see just how my choices affected the game till now and I look forward to unearthing more secrets in this fascinating experience.

7.5 / 10.0 - J-Stars Victory Vs+
Jul 17, 2015

A large part of your enjoyment of this game is dependent on how well you know these characters and how invested you are in their respective series. If pitting Ace against Akainu doesn't bring a tear to your eye, you might not enjoy this game as much as I did. If you're an avid anime and manga fan then you'll most likely appreciate this celebration of it. With some polish and refinement; it could be a great series. I really hope that this isn't its final form.

7.5 / 10.0 - Hyrule Warriors
Sep 30, 2014

At the end of the day, Hyrule Warriors is at its core a Dynasty Warriors game, but it injects enough of that Legend of Zelda pizzazz to feel fresh and fun in its own right. This game won't convert you into Dynasty Warriors fan and it has its fair share of problems, but after all is said and done I can say this; Hyrule Warriors is fun, and I guess sometimes that's all that matters.

Beneath the fluff and frustrations lies a truly unique game with a wondrous world and a central mechanic that can often cause moments of pure exhilaration. It's a fun, but deeply flawed experience.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm's first episode can feel like a drag in the beginning, with a weak main mechanic and slow pacing, but it all pays off in the end and manages to become a flawed, but captivating experience.

7.5 / 10.0 - Project CARS 2
Oct 2, 2017

Project Cars 2 delivers an outstanding racing experience, unfortunately, once the honeymoon period wears off, the by the numbers career mode does little to captivate in the long run, and the numerous bugs and inconsistent presentation and AI hamper an otherwise fantastic game.

7.5 / 10.0 - Lost Sphear
Feb 13, 2018

Lost Sphear is a bit of a hard sell to people who are not fans of JRPGS and even though the writing and characters are quite stereotypical, the story has a lot of heart. The battle system and customization options make for a fun game.

Dark Souls is an amazing and important game, but the remaster does little to spice things up, providing little reason to really go back to Lordran. Blighttown runs at 60fps though, so that might be reason enough for some.

The First Samurai doesn't end the tale of Nioh 2 in a satisfying way but it does provide a meaningful and fun loot experience. Bbrutal new enemies and new gameplay modes makes the complete package of this game something truly special.

While it's a hard sale for those that have already played the game to death, even with all the changes, but if you've never played it before, it's an easy recommendation. Pick this game up as it's chocked full of content that is still well worth your money. It's no Bloodborne though.

7 / 10.0 - The Surge
May 16, 2017

The Surge is a flawed but ultimately enjoyable action RPG. While it can be incredibly frustrating at times, the fantastic combat and body part targeting system does enough to overshadow the bad parts.

7 / 10.0 - Rainbow Moon
Feb 25, 2016

Frustrations aside, Rainbow Moon is well worth the money. If you've played it before, there really isn't a reason to buy this game again but if you're one of the people that has yet to try it out, be prepared for a long but ultimately fun grind.

Overall, the DLC isn’t really that impressive - but even though the quest line is mediocre, the new robot creation functionality is sure to appeal to those Fallout fans that got sucked into the Settlement building or those that just love building things in general.

God Eater 2: Rage Burst is a flawed but ultimately fun and fast-paced monster hunting game that provides some of the most extensive customization options this genre has to offer.

It should be an easier purchase to make if you haven’t played DDD before, but other than that, it’s hard to recommend this collection if you’re only getting it for 0.2, however awesome it may be. I do also understand just how starved Kingdom Hearts fans are however, so do know what you’re getting yourself into, but take solace in the fact that even though 0.2 is short, it’s a thrilling ride.

7 / 10.0 - Cat Quest
Nov 14, 2017

Cat Quest's combat can get stale and the lacklustre dungeon design definitely hampers exploration, but the surprisingly entertaining story and cool loot system is enough to keep you engaged to see it through to the end, if, you're playing in short bursts.

With one of the most addictive turn-based battle systems you'll find today in a JRPG, Tokyo Mirage Sessions was a blast to play. It's just unfortunate that the story and characters were about as bland as flavourless rice cakes.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity falters greatly in its narrative. The time-traveling aspect felt like a cheap and easy way to rewrite history without actually adding much to the established lore. That said, this did allow Princess Zelda to shine which ended up being a pleasant surprise. The gameplay is the main hook and it's a bloody fun one at that. There is lots to love here if you can ignore the story.
