Cory Wells's Reviews
MLB The Show 20 launches at the perfect time as the nation needs sports.
Motorcycle simulations really haven't ever taken off in video games, but since racing games are at their peak in today's world, there is certainly a market for it.
MotoGP 20 adds an underlying layer of improvement to what made last year's title so impressive.
Song of Horror: Complete Edition is a lot to take in all at once.
F1 2020 is as good as it gets on the current generation of consoles.
Despite its downfalls and legacy design issues, I simply cannot put down PGA Tour 2K21. Much like the previous Golf Club title, this is a golf game with smidgen of the PGA Tour tacked on it.
NHL 21 has taken the best of what has been offered this generation in the series and sprinkled goodness on top.
Fans of either F-Zero or Wipeout will undeniably and thoroughly enjoy PACER. The methodology behind this title is the same that you would see in Wipeout as the project began with many of the same people involved in the original games.
DIRT 5 on PlayStation 5 is the best way to experience Codemasters' new title.
Milestone has improved the modes for MXGP 2020 which still offer a good bit of variety outside of just racing the 2020 series tracks.
Chernobylite offers a deep survival game experience that offers elements of sci-fi, horror and RPG. It's hard to call this a survival horror title, but all the management aspects and the branching storylines will provide fans of the survival genre plenty to enjoy.
RiMS Racing is the most immersive motorcycle gaming experience to date, with the DualSense pushing this even further.
There's no doubt that any fan of classic survival horror titles needs to pick up Tormented Souls. The game is full of Easter eggs to classic horror series and provides a look at what could have been for the likes of Resident Evil and Silent Hill. The visuals are detailed and beautiful with excellent light rendering and reflections, while the soundtrack is on par with these older titles. The gameplay is heavy almost to a fault, but offers different options to maneuver around the hospital.
The changes that were implemented for NBA 2K22 are for the better.
NHL 22 on current-generation consoles is the best NHL experience that has released in some time.
While there are technical issues, Age of Empires IV truly feels like a successful modern take on a classic favorite.
Halo Infinite concludes a good run of 2021 Microsoft exclusives and it stands up to the best of what the Halo series has offered over its near twenty year run.
Visual Concepts and 2K made the right decision with taking last year off as WWE 2K22 is the best effort the team has released since taking over.
Moss: Book II builds on the revolutionary platform VR title that the original was, but ultimately keeps the game safe and grounded without letting it get out of hand.
MLB The Show 22 continues the tradition of being an excellent emulation of the sport of baseball, but this is another year without major changes.
