I enjoyed tearing through the world Of Styx, and truly felt I had that "Master of Shadows" title down to a T. While the game has its slight bumps here and there, it is a fantastic addition to the stealth genre, and I couldn't be more pleased with it's approach. There's enough innovation and elements sprinkled in there for you to have creative and tactical approaches to how you take on your enemies and truly, Master the Shadows.

6.5 / 10.0 - Hyrule Warriors
Oct 20, 2014

Hyrule Warriors was an interesting experience. The Zelda Aesthetic was enough to keep me engaged for awhile, but in the end I came to realize I was just mashing the A button to progress through most of the game. The Hollow Game modes offered, and the lack of any engaging in game content is what kept me from having any lasting playtime with the game. I found myself only being able to enjoy the game in short bursts, before wanting to set it down and play something else. In the end, It's an entertaining Zelda skinned game, but doesn't do anything to really change or set itself apart from other Hack and Slash games.

9 / 10.0 - Bayonetta 2
Nov 4, 2014

Bayonetta 2 was a pleasant surprise for me as a Wii U gamer going through a bit of a drought. It sucked me into a realm of beautifully crafted battles, enormous personality, and just plain sexy character design. Bayonetta 2 was charming, and just a little bit naughty. It is an absolute must have for the Wii U, and I would dare say it is one of the top Wii U titles available for the platform.

Fantasia was a treat to play. I had a lot of fun going back and playing songs i'd loved as a kid like "Bohemian Rhapsody," or mixing up some of today's singles like Lorde's "Royals." Fantasia is a great party game to play with some friends, and really shows that Harmonix can continue to put out quality music experiences for people to enjoy. Not to mention, it's another game that I feel really utilizes the Kinect in a way that actually makes it an enjoyable peripheral to have.

8.5 / 10.0 - Tales of Hearts R
Nov 10, 2014

Tales of Hearts R is a fantastic addition to the diverse Tales of franchise. I found myself engrossed in the story of the characters as I followed them. I laughed with them, and I had my heart strings tugged on once or twice. I took on epic battles with them, and I struck down evil with amazing magical fortitude. I enjoyed all of the hours I sunk into Tales of Hearts R, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to begin with the Tales Of franchise.

Stealth Inc. 2 is a fantastic addition to the growing indie support the Wii U is getting. Curve Studios did a wonderful job of showing just how much thought and care they put into their game, and it really is an indie game you should pick up the next time you are browsing the Eshop.

Citizens of Earth was an ambitious RPG that set out to bring back the classic RPG styles of Earthbound and the like, but the standards of that genre really fail to take their place among RPG's today. There's fun to be had, to a point, and it's worth checking out if you're a fan of those oldschool games.

All in all, Life Is Strange was well... strange. While I found myself nitpicking characters and plot development, I still was drawn into what would happen next, what all my decisions would effect in the future, and just what in the world is happening in this town? Life is Strange is the kind of game where you don't have to fear imminent death or sweat the danger and fear of the world around you. Instead, it's a very humane take on the episodic genre, with some supernatural tendencies sprinkled in. I honestly am very interested to see where this strange journey ends up in the next episode, releasing March 2015.

Overall, Xenoverse was a pretty nice step for DBZ games, and for fans alike. The customization and online offerings of the game keep the appeal up, the combat is balanced and entertaining, and all in all, its a solid release, and good title for any fan of Dragon Ball Z.

8 / 10.0 - OlliOlli
Mar 15, 2015

OlliOlli was addicting, frustrating, and a downright enjoyable title. I was put off having it on console at first and not on a handheld on the go, but I think no matter what platform you play it on, you're going to find yourself having a great time. It was a pleasant surprise that made me all the more happy there is a sequel.

Battlefield Hardline was a fantastic entry in the franchise. It was fresh, new, stealthy, comedic, and overall a damn good time to play. There's a little something for everyone here.

5.5 / 10.0 - Mario Party 10
Mar 24, 2015

Mario Party has enough entertainment in it to still be a fun game to grab a couple buddies and play with, but given the choice, I'd easily pick older iterations over this title. The fact that you can go whole segments without even touching a mini-game and the hollow offerings of amiibo mode make this game a pretty big party pooper.

5.8 / 10.0 - Goat Simulator
Apr 23, 2015

Goat Simulator is funny, it's incredibly stupid, it's utterly simplistic, and it may charm you, or make you look at it with disgust. It's an okay game to pick up and play, but not enough to commit to for days on end. All in all, you just have to decide. Do you want to spend your money to be a Goat?

7 / 10.0 - Splatoon
Jun 7, 2015

Splatoon is an example of a game that actually suffers from the fact that it doesnt have enough to offer. Quite frankly, I adore the game, and the only frustration I get aside from bad lobbies, is the fact that I don't have MORE of it to play! Splatoon was incredibly fun to play, but overall felt like an incomplete game from its launch date. I would love to see Nintendo remedy the situation more with future content, and I won't discourage anyone from buying it either. Maybe wait until the game has some more to offer, but don't miss out on it. I still think it's a really fun game overall.

6.5 / 10.0 - Nom Nom Galaxy

It has its share of shortcomings but still a relatively solid title, all things considered. Nom Nom galaxy offers something for everyone, it just doesn't feel like ENOUGH of that something.

Legacy of the Duelist was a refreshing Yu-Gi-Oh experience. It's fun, it's addicting, and at the cheap price of $19.99, you'd be crazy not to pick it up. I'd highly recommend you get your game on, because it's time to D-D-D-D-DDDDD-DUEL! (I couldn't resist.)

8.3 / 10.0 - Rare Replay
Aug 11, 2015

Rare Replay is an incredible offering for the Xbox platform, at a cheap price. While some titles had hiccups, the full offering of games is enough to make Rare Replay an absolute must have for any fan of Rare, or anyone looking to play some of the most iconic games in the industry.

Danganronpa did it again. Another Episode was heartpounding, mind blowing, and for the millionth time, filled with despair. So do yourself a favour, fill yourself with hope, and absolutely play this must have entry in the Danganronpa franchise.

In a world where I started to find too much simplicity and repetition in Mario, I have had my mind turned upside down thanks to Mario Maker. Where I desired difficulty, I received it. Where I asked for more Yoshi, I got it. Where I asked for an endless amount of Mario to play, I have obtained it. And something I thought since being a small child was realized as well. I get to make Mario, the way I want to play Mario.

Bigger, crazier and more spectacular than ever, Disgaea 5 doesn't disappoint and continues to be one of my favorite strategy franchises. While the pacing may be a bit slow, it doesn't detract from the overall quality of the game and it's absolutely worth picking up.
