While Dishonored: Death of the Outsider's core gameplay remains as fun as ever, Arkane's methods to resolve its story are debatable.
It might not be as high-profile as other fighting games but it has more than enough going for it to warrant checking it out. If the rest of its content drops are as good as this, it could end up being one of the better Microsoft platform exclusives.
For a series that's tackled colonial America, the high seas, and the Italian renaissance, Assassin's Creed Unity manages to keep it fresh. It has enough going for it to make it worth a purchase for the discerning gamer who may or may not still be suffering from the trauma of rote learning every detail of the French Revolution for academic purposes. Well worth the price of admission, and then some.
With so much to do and so many ways to do it, you'll never get bored. It might not be the most original entry in the series but it's definitely the most fun. After all, isn't that what video games are about?
So is Ubisoft's open world racer worth your time and energy? It just depends how starved you are for a brand new racing game and your willingness to tolerate its many concerns until they're rectified, if at all. If you aren't, you're better off playing some of the older Need For Speed games instead.

Resident Evil HD Remaster's design restrictions heighten the game's survival horror feel, proving that less is indeed more. It delivers tension, horror, and fear liberally. In exchange, you have to commit your time to the game, and put up with some seemingly archaic conventions. In today's world of in-app purchase-laden affairs, it's a welcome throwback to when games demanded you, instead of money.
With a predictable story and an in-game economy that's extortionate, we cannot recommend Star Wars Battlefront 2 to anyone at this juncture.
All in all, Valkyria Revolution is well worth avoiding. Unless you're a hardcore fan of the franchise's mythology, there's little reason to slog through this.
At [a low price], Carmageddon: Max Damage is one of the cheaper console games on the market, but that alone doesn't warrant a recommendation. The poor presentation, long load times, and clunky driving don't do it any favours either. This is one game you can safely avoid.
Although Homefront: The Revolution's core mechanics rotten, you'd think that its rich lore could be used to flesh out the game world. But this isn't the case either. Most of its missions are similar, forcing you to reclaim enemy strongholds, and standout moments are few and far between. There's nothing memorable about Philadelphia and the characters are forgettable at best.
To sum it up, The Order: 1886 is best described as a vertical slice of gameplay. It shows off a lot of features but very few of them come together in a manner that's deemed as cohesive. Throw in the short gameplay length and the wasted potential of its setting, and you have a game that you should squarely avoid. Sony's exclusives are usually of high standard. This is not one of them.
That said, great combat and traversal alone don't do enough to warrant playing Anthem right now. Poorly thought out progression, grating characters, and inconsistent performance make EA's answer to Destiny and The Division one to skip until after a major update or two hits.
Hopefully, Bethesda reboots Fallout 76 like it did with The Elder Scrolls Online. Right now though, the game is hard to recommend to anyone but the most faithful of Fallout fans.
Clocking in at around 12 hours, Lego The Incredibles' questionable narrative choices and bland gameplay make it one to avoid. If you're looking for your Incredibles fix, check out movies instead because the game is far from incredible.
At the moment, Sea of Thieves feels like a mock up house used by real estate agents to sell you on a property. It's a polished prototype with promise and potential, but it's so far removed from what the actuality is that you're better off waiting.
Overall, you could do far worse than The Caligula Effect, but you could do far better as well. Due to its myriad of issues both technical and otherwise - and despite the solid story and music - there's little reason to check out this RPG until it's deeply discounted.
Regardless of your inclination towards Nintendo's mascot, it's safe to say that you can avoid Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. It's a soulless crossover with a penchant for mission design that frustrates more than it should.
Sony is quickly making the PS4 the de facto place for mid-tier gems with the likes of Alienation, Firewatch, Helldivers, and Transistor available on the PlayStation Store. Shadow of the Beast simply doesn't pass muster. A little more time spent tweaking its controls and technical issues may have resulted in a better game but as it stands, it's one you can safely avoid.
While moving to an open-world worked for the likes of Ghost Recon Wildlands, and Forza, Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 feels like it made the switch in order to classify as a current generation game, than an actual necessity.
