Werewolves Within is a very clever game that successfully turns a real-world party game into the virtual sphere that works on all levels. It’s quite clever and one really enjoyable VR experience on the PlayStation VR but its premise may get a little repetitive!

3.5 / 5.0 - Here They Lie (VR)
Oct 30, 2016

Here They Lie is a clever game for the PlayStation VR and its motion sickness does make wonder whether this game would be better suited for the PS4 Pro for faster framerates. The game’s momentum starts slow and every now and then the game will really make you jump which is where the developers have succeeded. However in terms of gameplay, it is a little light in its nature but the nonetheless is an interesting look into both the horror genre and into the psyche of the main character in this horror thriller.

3.5 / 5.0 - Battlezone (VR)
Nov 16, 2016

Battlezone VR is a fun game on the PlayStation VR system which provides an enjoyable game that doesn’t throw too many challenges at the player. It does showcase the VR system and thankfully the controls work hand in hand with the gameplay and graphics to create this almost retro arcade tank game.

Pinball FX: Marvel’s Women of Power is a fun virtual pinball game that really celebrates the amazing female characters from this comic book universe, especially from the animation and sound effects. The graphics are great and the two pinball machines are well designed that are bursting with colours, special effects and some traditional gameplay as it helps emulate a real-world pinball machine. So if you’re a Marvel fan and enjoy pinball, check out Pinball FX: Marvel’s Women of Power that is now available on Xbox One.

3.5 / 5.0 - Disney Art Academy
Jul 31, 2016

Disney Art Academy is not a game perse but rather an interactive paint program for the Nintendo 3DS that uses the intuitive interface of this console in teaching the player a variety of techniques and different drawing tools. However as its based in the Disney and Pixar universe, this will grab younger fans who love the various franchises created by these companies. Thankfully it’s quite an easy to use program that will keep younger gamers coming back for me.

Damn you Telltale Games and damn you George R. R. Martin because even though this series is quite an emotional ride, you've really made me invested in these characters and when one of them dies, I feel responsible and I guess that's where you succeeded in The Ice Dragon. With a Season 2 already being mentioned by Telltale, let's hope we get some more victories and that our choices have a much more bigger impact on the storyline because I did feel a little let down with the season finale but even so, I still had quite the time!

Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess is great in small doses but unfortunately it does become a little repetitive, even with the new content and the game has this real last-gen console feel to it. Nonetheless if you enjoyed the previous games and want to try something different, there are far worse games than this!

Strike Suit Zero Director's Cut is a good game on the XBox One and if you have a hankering for this genre than I do suggest you check out this game. It may not be the most visually impressive game and the difficulty can be a challenge at times but even with its slight flaws, it's a fun game but just a tad repetitive. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing your shields at almost zero and then somehow saving the day with your amazing space craft.

Being a fan of the series, I actually installed this latest instalment even though it does become repetitive but the mindless hacking and slashing on the battlefield is quite fun. The mechanics work well but the gameplay is definitely showing its age and once again, hopefully Koei can try something new in their next instalment besides making it a 1080p game.

Farming Simulator 15 is not for all gamers and even though I wasn't a fan of the content, I can actually see its merits. It definitely recreates the farming experience well and it does give the player some great content in terms of what kind of farming equipment and crops are available. Needless to say, Farming Simulator 15 is also a time-hole because this game definitely requires patience to succeed but there is actually something enjoyable about this strange game based on farming!

Super Mario Maker 3DS is a fun game on this console that offers some really fun gameplay and more importantly, the ability to create your own 2D arcade worlds with an intuitive creation system. However the downside of this title is the lack of sharing your creations with other players from the around the world and if this was included in Super Mario Maker 3DS, it would have been a fantastic game on this console. It’s still a fun game but is missing that final piece of the gaming puzzle!

If you enjoyed Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China and hankering for more of the same, then India definitely delivers on that level and if you missed the previous game but enjoy some classic platforming with a next-gen twist, this is definitely a title you should check out. The gameplay is sturdy, the graphics mirror painted art and audio create an enjoyable adventure (albeit short) through another part of the Assassin's Creed franchise. In terms of replay value and once you've completed the main game, the title does give the player more challenging modes to complete the game again and fine-tune your assassin skills.

3.6 / 5.0 - Assetto Corsa
Nov 9, 2016

I'm the end Assetto Corsa may lean more towards the professional virtual racer which offers some great features and tweaks available for the gamer who wants to maximise their realistic experience. I also commend the developers on creating such as engaging title but it does border a little on budget when compared to other games of this calibre but the cars look great and they handle how they should. The career mode is in-depth and the other modes are fun, especially the events and of course multiplayer which is where this title shined for me.

3.7 / 5.0 - The Last Guardian
Dec 12, 2016

Although I've been critical of the gameplay of The Last Guardian, it's actually quite a beautiful title on the PlayStation 4 with a very moving story. So if you can forgive the technical issues of the game and if you enjoyed Ico or Shadow of the Colossus, it's still an interesting experience that is a thoroughly enjoyable and emotional narrative on this console.

Kinect Sports Rivals is a good game on the Xbox One but it's not the game that successfully turns Kinect into a true gaming medium. I'm sure this will come but for now, it is easily the best motion controlled game on any console and developers RARE have really thought outside the square in terms of translating these real world games onto the Xbox One console. Some games such as a soccer were a little too complicated, especially with the accuracy of the motion controls but other titles such as bowling and jet ski racing almost felt like the real thing.

3.8 / 5.0 - Zoo Tycoon
Dec 8, 2013

Zoo Tycoon is definitely a family friend game that can be played by all ages. Younger gamers will definitely get a kick out of designing their own zoos and engaging in the mini-games. Whereas older players will enjoy the challenge mode which does up the difficulty level of the game as you attempt to make a profitable, education and fun zoo for everyone.

One Piece: Unlimited World Red Deluxe Edition is a decent addition to the stable of Nintendo Switch games and of course from a Once Piece perspective. It's a fun experience on the Nintendo Switch with lots of quests to embark on and is a relatively sturdy gaming system. The multiplayer component of the game could have been fleshed out more but nonetheless, it creates a fun game for fans of the One Piece series.
