3.6 / 5.0 - Gauntlet
Oct 4, 2014

Gauntlet is a fun game when you can find others to play and this modern interpretation successfully combines the best elements of the original and throws in a few 21st century twists. The biggest letdown of Gauntlet for me are the graphics which does seem a little basic. Thankfully the gameplay works, especially in four player co-op and if you're looking for a great walk down memory lane, than Arrowhead Game Studios definitely delivers one of the best interpretations of this classic arcade game.

Minecraft is truly a success on the PlayStation 4 that boasts accessible controls and a glorious interactive environment that will keep players attention for hours upon hours. Given that the game is available for around $25AUD, you definitely get value for money as you explore, build and conquer in the ultimate console version of Minecraft.

4.5 / 5.0 - Evolve
Feb 16, 2015

Evolve definitely had big expectations to live up for but thankfully developers Turtle Rock Studios have successfully delivered the next big multiplayer epic with flawless gameplay, great characters and a truly powerful monster that kicks severe butt! Sure it does have some parallels to Aliens or Predator but in my opinion, the gameplay is far superior and is easily one of the best multiplayer games that is more than just a first person shooter.

If you enjoyed Fruit Ninja on either the iOS or XBox 360 then it's probably worth checking out this title on the new XBox One. Given that it is a casual game, the replay value may become a little boring as you progress but Halfbrick Studios should be commended on making it quite a responsive and accurate game on the XBox One.

In the end, I was a little underwhelmed with Ultra Street Fighter II The Final Challengers on the Nintendo Switch and given the technological advancements in fighters since this game was released, it did feel like it was stuck back in the day. Sure there are some new modes and new control systems for the Nintendo Switch but it just felt dated at times. Overall, this game is definitely one for the purists and although not a bad game per se, it doesn't offer anything new either which is a shame. However, if you're looking for that classic fighting experience, then Ultra Street Fighter II The Final Challengers delivers in that area!
