Granted, many of the included games in Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics can be found as standalone apps on mobile devices (and even on Switch). However, none come to mind that have the same level of polish that this has. Clubhouse Games uses the Switch hardware in creative and technical ways, and Nintendo's signature quirky charm oozes all around here and makes for a fun collection that provides basically endless amounts of entertainment.

9 / 10.0 - Pure Pool
Nov 21, 2020

Overall, Pure Pool is a relaxing, challenging little sports title that'll drag you in even if you're not a heavy pool player. It's perfectly accessible to anyone who's new to the sport, but also challenging enough for more advanced players to also be kept engaged as they strike their way through each match. At only $15, it's worth the pickup.

9 / 10.0 - Traffix
Jan 3, 2021

What really impressed me about Traffix is that all of this madness is wrapped up in a super clean, minimalist aesthetic that has sharp lines, bright colors, and funky "elevator" music. This overall calming theme contrasts with the infuriating gameplay, but it works so well. Failing a level for the 40th time isn't exactly fun, but it was hard for me not to keep restarting and trying again. This is a pleasant little strategy game that's bound to keep you hooked for a good while. Perhaps if you find yourself stuck in traffic again (as a passenger), you can whip this out and take control of the situation.

Lego Bricktales returns the IP to its block-placing origins with fun puzzles that can certainly challenge the mind. While it doesn't allow you to do whatever you want, the satisfaction that comes with problem-solving each puzzle is quite notable.

The Nintendo 3DS has no shortage of racing games, but there aren't quite many like Urban Trial Freestyle 2 on the handheld. If you've played Ubisoft's Trials, then you should already have an idea of what to expect from this game. Seeing that this is coming from an indie studio, you may think that the quality would be on the lesser side. Surprisingly, that isn't the case.

For younger players, or those who just want a casual, laidback experience on their 3DS, Farming Simulator 18 is actually a pretty solid buy.

If you're willing to give up mods, multiplayer and DLC in exchange for portability, then I'd say the Switch Edition does deserve a look. But, I have to note that it is a letdown that the Switch Edition is currently going for $50. That is rather high considering the missing content and year-later release.

If you do happen to be a fan of marble games, or even regular racers, you’re bound to find joy in Mindball Play. While it is on the difficult side, its unique gameplay style definitely helps it to stand out from the pack.

M2 did a pretty good job at this port. Everything looks and runs quite well, and the customization options for the gameplay and controls are much appreciated. While I wish the visuals looked more like the PS2 port of the game, and that there were more content, this is still a neat little package that should prove to be fun for any fan of racing games, whether you’re a novice or veteran.

Regardless, in a time when visiting real-life amusement parks is highly questionable (if not outright impossible), it's nice to still be able to enjoy them in virtual form with RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition.

Tracks – Toybox Edition is just the type of game to sit down and have a hot drink with and let yourself go for a while. It's like reading an easy book - just enough to capture your mind, but it makes you feel good and distracts you from everything else going on. Whether you're older with fond memories of toy trains or intend to pick this up for a new, young player to have a virtual toy, Tracks is worth it just for its feel-good nature alone.

8.5 / 10.0 - SnowRunner
May 17, 2021

Despite its limitations, SnowRunner on Switch can rightfully be declared as a "late but great" kind of port. This is a rare occasion where Switch owners will feel their patience has been respected. Considering the complexity of SnowRunner's simulation, foliage-dense open maps, and high-quality exterior and interior models, the fact that this is all somehow running on a 7-inch tablet with 2015 hardware is simply amazing to me. This is a feature-for-feature port, so there's nothing that Switch owners are missing out on compared to on the other platforms. Rather, there's only the key addition of portable play. So, is it worth it? By all means!

8.5 / 10.0 - Islanders

Islanders is a really interesting, serene city-building experience that reduces stress instead of adding onto it. Its clean-cut visual style and pickup-and-play mechanics fit the Switch like a glove.
