6 / 10.0 - Vampyr
Jun 4, 2018

Vampyr has a lot of good ideas, but its execution is sorely lacking in most areas. It is a game that is competent in terms of its systems, but ultimately fairly boring to play.

Thought provoking and emotionally charged, Don't Make Love is a title worth trying for yourself, especially if the mood for something less gamey and more emotional is right up your alley.

Mutant Football League is mindless fun, which is all an arcade football game should be, but outside of the grotesque humor there is nothing else to really latch onto other than the bare-bones gameplay and lack of gameplay features.

A good game plagued by many issues, Siege of Dragonspear is an uneven RPG in terms of writing and presentation; a trait it shares with the original Baldur's Gate.

By no means a bad game in the end, Codename S.T.E.A.M has good design choices hampered by lots of tedium and frustration.

Out There: Oceans of Time has the foundations of a good game, but is wholly unremarkable with what it does with its mechanics.

Black Geyser: Couriers of Darkness is by all accounts, a solid game, but it is a game born in another age, one that ultimately comes with the baggage of its forefathers.

A solid interactive narrative based on the classic novella, Orwell's Animal Farm lacks a lot of gameplay, but makes up for it with its use of the prose.

6.5 / 10.0 - Pax Nova

Pax Nova offers some good 4x strategy, so long as you can overlook its major technical flaws.

6.5 / 10.0 - GreedFall

Overly ambitious, GreedFall fails more than it seems to succeed, yet the games heart and Spiders passion shines through, making the game an enjoyable experience.

6.5 / 10.0 - My Lovely Daughter
May 14, 2018

Purposefully dark and disturbing, My Lovely Daughter doesn't have much in the way of gameplay mechanics, but what it does have serves a greater purpose to the games overall themes.

Age of Gladiators II is certainly not for everyone, but it will sooth the simulation itch by being a well-made, stat-heavy game with a strong thematic backdrop.

6.5 / 10.0 - Didgery
Apr 20, 2017

Despite some flairs here and there to make Didgery interesting, the game works best as an on-the-go puzzle title; the kind to play on the commute to work every morning.

For a freshman effort by an indie developer, there is just enough to really get your attention in Masquerada, and I look forward to seeing what Witching Hour Studios does next. Behind the mask of this game is a studio with a lot of heart, and while their first outing is ultimately flawed, their heart is sometimes all you need to make your mark in the gaming world.

I really wanted to like Kingdom Come: Deliverance more than I did, but at the end of the day the conflicting mechanics only compound the technical and narrative flaws the further you get into the game.

7 / 10.0 - Bloodwash
Sep 21, 2021

I wouldn't necessarily call it a 'good' game in the sense of it having deep mechanics, but for what it tries to emulate, Bloodwash offers the best form of horror entertainment this side of a video nasty VHS.

In Rays of the Light is a really good, if brief, atmospheric adventure that will provide players at least some moments of introspection.

7 / 10.0 - SoulCalibur VI
Oct 21, 2018

SoulCalibur VI as a fighting game is all style over substance. While it retains most of its tactical combat it is easily the most user-friendly title in the series and for some longtime fans, that may be more discouraging than a return to form.

The Mummy Demastered is the perfect kind of filler game between bigger titles; and one that is damn fun to play despite its few shortcomings.
