Destiny: Rise of Iron might not quite live up to what it should have been, but it gets very close. With a few more tweaks from Bungie, it might even get close to matching The Taken King.
MLB The Show 17 is a good load of fun. It has a lot of content on offer and can keep you busy for quite some time.
Destiny 2: Forsaken rights a lot of the wrongs from the original game. It is the game that Destiny 2 should have been right from the start, and because of this, it becomes a lot easier to recommend again.
Baseball is not a sport that we here in South Africa know a lot about, but the MLB series does a very good job at showing us what all the fuss is about.
Everybody's Golf is a surprisingly deep and fulfilling game. It offers a decent amount of content, and while it might look quirky and cartoonish, it offers a solid digital golfing experience.
The Frozen Wilds offers a lot more to the overall experience of Horizon Zero Dawn, but it's not quite the stand-alone experience that we want it to be.
Dishonored 2 is a great game, and it offers a lot of value. It's definitely worth considering if you’re into stealth games, and looking for something with a lot of replay value.
DiRT Rally 2.0 is not an easy game to play, but once you get a hang of it, it will suck you in and challenge you to be better and improve all the time. The game is very well made and offers quite a bit in terms of gameplay and challenge. It is the gold standard for Rally simulation.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice really shows why From Software is the current king of making brutally challenging yet rewarding games. It looks amazing, has a more focussed narrative than what we've seen before and the combat is something quite unique and different. It might not be everybody's cup of tea, but once you get used to the game's rhythm and mechanics, it becomes an absolute blast to play.
F1 2018 is an incredibly well-made racing simulator that doesn't change up too much from its predecessor, but rather builds and improves on what is already there.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the final entry into the Origins Trilogy of Lara Croft with a compelling story and some of the best character seen in the series. It features some great stealth combat, excellent puzzles, and fun platforming. It is a worthy entry into the series and might be considered as the best one yet.
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is an insane amount of fun, and if you enjoyed the first game, then you are in for a real treat!
Destiny 2 is not a complete overhaul of the original game, but rather an evolution to something much bigger and better than its predecessor. It improves in every way, including the story, varied content and gameplay.
It’s brutally hard, punishing and unforgiving, but man is it satisfying, and pretty.
Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration Edition is an incredibly good package, that adds a lot of value to what is already an exceptional game. It is honestly one of the best games I’ve played this year, full of endearing characters, great moments, both big and small and even some of the best layered villains. The combat is fun and engaging, the exploration is on point and story, especially the Blood Ties expansion, is exceptionally told.
It's not just Kratos' appearance and maturity that's changed, but so has the God of War formula. Everything has grown up and with it you're left with an unforgettable adventure that will stay with you long after you put the controller down.
