When all is said and done, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is a fantastic entry into the series. The amount of content in the game is truly incredible and Mr. Sakurai and the teams at Sora Ltd. and Capcom have put a ton of work into the title. When the title was first mentioned at E3 2011, fans were ecstatic to finally be getting some new Smash, and the long wait up until 2014 was a hard time for many Nintendo fans.

The frantic gameplay always leaves you wanting to clear one more room to see what’s next and that feeling never faded for me throughout my playthrough.

With a mix of real life drama and supernatural elements, there's certainly a story in here that even newcomers to the series can enjoy. Those looking for a fun experience will likely find it here, but it may be short lived if you aren’t into the game competitively.

For a $49.99 game, it does not deliver. A short underwhelming story with no replay-ability and forgettable characters will leave you wishing you'd spent that money elsewhere. My advice: wait until the price drops if you are considering getting it.

. A kid will most likely find some fun in the levels and the characters they know and love, but there isn’t much for them to keep coming back for.
