7.5 / 10.0 - For Honor

Gamers willing to look past these problems will discover one of the best multiplayer experiences of this generation but less patient players may be discouraged by the title’s technical issues.

Torment: Tides of Numenera is an excellent spiritual successor to one of the most influential RPGs ever released. inXile Entertainment has created a game that dares to be different, letting players approach the task at hand in a staggering amount of different ways. It may be a bit short when compared to similar titles, but what it lacks in length, it more than makes up for in replayability.

6 / 10.0 - DESYNC
Mar 27, 2017

DESYNC is a stylish first person shooter let down by a few questionable choices. Gamers willing to overlook unfair enemy spawn mechanics and frustrating level design may end up loving The Foregone Syndicate‘s debut title, but it’s definitely not for everyone.

8.5 / 10.0 - Yooka Laylee
Apr 11, 2017

Yooka-Laylee is an excellent 3D platformer, featuring open levels that reward skill and exploration, tight gameplay mechanics and a killer soundtrack. A few technical issues prevent it from reaching the heights achieved by classics such as Banjo-Kazooie, but gamers looking for a collect-a-thon in 2017 should definitely consider picking up Playtonic Games’ debut title.

The Signal From Tölva is a thinking man's shooter, letting players piece together an interesting story as they fight their way through a sci-fi playground controlled by autonomous AI factions. It doesn't always succeed at what it sets out to do, but at its peak, it's an excellent mix of the best bits of the Far Cry and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.

9 / 10.0 - Battle Brothers
Apr 24, 2017

Battle Brothers is an incredibly engaging experience, forcing players to make meaningful choices as they manage a mercenary company and try to leave a mark in a detailed fantasy world. It’s not a perfect game, and it could use a better tutorial, but players looking for a deep turn-based tactical RPG will definitely get a lot of enjoyment out of Overhype Studios’ excellent first title.

Full Throttle Remastered is an excellent adventure game lovingly remade for the current generation. There are some bumps along the road, as the bike combat sequences still feel out of place and some puzzles suffer from “adventure game logic” syndrome, but overall, Double Fine Productions has done an amazing job with this remaster.

Jun 22, 2017

Tokyo 42 looks amazing and it’s often fun to play, but a few key issues drag down the experience quite a bit. While the game’s stealth systems are well done and the faction mechanics and open ended design can generate truly exciting moments, everything comes tumbling down when vehicles are involved, due to clunky camera movement and unresponsive controls.
