The Saints Row reboot wants to tell a new, modern story, but the gameplay framework surrounding it is starting to show a bit of rust.
Taxi Chaos is a pretty faithful and enjoyable recreation of a fondly remembered gaming franchise, but its new ideas introduce lots of new problems.
Hyperbrawl Tournament's core gameplay is a lot of fun, even if the bots are a bit annoying. It's just a shame there's not enough people playing.
Liberated is a game that hits as much as it misses. Certain story beats and animation issues drag down the experience, but the overall narrative and art style make Liberated worth a look.
One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows is a decent debut for the Baldy Hero, but the host of gameplay and story problems get in the way.
Vertex Pop are a small team, so a lot of the issues with Super Crush KO could be attributed to a lack of resources, and ultimately, the game offers plenty of enjoyment for fans of the beat ‘em up genre. That said, Super Crush KO’s issues are prevalent enough to dampen the overall package.
As a game, Overwatch is the best it's ever been. As a port, you're likely better off playing another version.
For what it is, Dead or Alive 6 offers an enjoyable experience for new players and veterans alike, but the full package currently fails to deliver in a lot of key areas.
There's the nucleus of a great mech punch 'em up here, but Override: Mech City Brawl needs some more time in R&D before it can get there.
There's a lot of a fun to be had with Omega Strike, as its gameplay, graphics and soundtrack are certainly great. Unfortunately, it suffers from plenty of poor design issues that hamper the game's real potential.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and that's especially true for a game like Fe. For every beautiful moment and every emotional musical chord, there's a gameplay element that just gets in the way.
Although Brawlout's mechanics and gameplay are decent, and great for any party, the lack of modes hampers the game's replayability, making it harder to recommend.
Unless you have a rabble of drunk friends on your couch, Nidhogg 2 is a pretty hard sell.
Though it's not all negative, Impact Winter contains plenty of issues that many will consider as barriers to enjoyment. Ultimately, it's these flaws that'll stop Impact Winter from making a, well, impact.
Xbox has been crying out for a Power Stone type of fighting game, so it’s good to see LASTFIGHT filling that particular niche, but the game has a void of its own when it comes to content. Hopefully, that will be addressed by the developer Piranaking, but currently that does devalue LASTFIGHT in comparison to other fighting games on the market. Still, you do get a satisfying brawler that truly comes into its element at a party or with friends and family.
Nostalgia only carries this bundle so far. Whilst these are enjoyable games, they're showing an age befitting their 10 year anniversary.
Though there are moments here that'll bring a smile to your face, Crackdown 3 is crammed with ideas and game design choices that were done better over a decade ago. Just play the original game and wash your hands of this version.
Monster Truck Championship offers decent and enjoyable gameplay, but some overarching flaws muddy the overall experience.
Like A Dragon Gaiden should tide fans over until Infinite Wealth drops as a shorter yet still enjoyable romp, but this is hardly a series highlight.
Sonic Superstars is full of ideas, and while not all of them land (especially the co-op), the inventiveness on show and core gameplay makes it worth checking out.
