7 / 10 - In Extremis
May 27, 2017

This is a slick package with excellent production values. The levels are enjoyable and highly replayable. It is unlikely that In Extremis will win over gamers who don't play this type of game, but fans are urged to give this one a try, which proves an excellent palette cleanser to those who have perhaps become a bit jaded with the genre.

Aliens Go Home Run is a solid package and injects new life into the genre, presenting a unique and enjoyable game with elements of the bat and ball genre, while requiring bullet-dodging skills of 2D shooting games. There is enough variety as levels progress to keep the player motivated, and the score attack aspect and the custom level feature may keep the dedicated coming back once the last level is completed.

7 / 10 - Xenoraid
Oct 3, 2016

Xenoraid may well be in a well-worn genre set in an overused scenario, but it features several welcome departures from the current state of the genre that have been implemented to a high level of technical excellence and design, delivering a very enjoyable game that becomes more enjoyable the more it is played. It is definitely one that can get its hooks into you. The genre and setting might put some off, but this is recommended to fans of the genre who are perhaps becoming a bit jaded, and to those who haven't yet tried this type of game and are looking for an interesting introduction to old-school space shooting.
