10 / 10 - Bayonetta 2
Feb 14, 2018

Bayonetta 2 has not suffered with the passage of time and this epic action game remains one of the finest examples of its kind. Featuring the same breathtaking gameplay and incredible action sequences, Bayonetta 2 on the Switch provides an even more complete experience compared to the original thanks to its newfound possibility of playing it everywhere. A real gem that should be in everyone's library.

8 / 10 - Bayonetta
Feb 14, 2018

The original Bayonetta may be almost ten years old but that doesn't mean that its gameplay is any less amazing or that its action loses any pace. This new Nintendo Switch version also brings the advantage of mobility, as well as some performance improvements, which contribute to make it an almost perfect experience, despite the lack of new content.

Sky Force Reloaded for the Nintendo Switch is a welcome addition of a game that will certainly please fans of the 2D shooting genre, thanks to its good gameplay mechanics and cooperative mode. Where Sky Force Reloaded loses out is on its price, as the Nintendo Switch version asks for a value that is not requested for its free mobile counterpart.

7 / 10 - Hammerwatch
Mar 4, 2018

Hammerwatch is a very welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch catalog that brings a fluid visual environment, a good variety of characters and a well developed local multiplayer mode to a retro-style adventure game that will certainly entertain many players. While the solo mode is less compelling than the local multiplayer and the promised online multiplayer is not available from the start, Hammerwatch is well worth a visit from those looking for an action-packed adventure.

Wanderjahr TryAgainOrWalkAway combines elements of classical JRPG games with large-scale combat to bring a game that features a good strategic component and a simple but fun adventure with a soundtrack worthy of praise. The experience would be much more memorable if the controls were sharper and with a more structured plot, not to mention the too many aspects that are more fitting for a mobile or tablet-based game than for a Nintendo Switch title.

9 / 10 - Toki Tori 2+
Mar 21, 2018

Toki Tori 2+: Nintendo Switch Edition brings the second chapter of the Toki Tori series to this generation's Nintendo console and in the best possible way. Not only is the game overall optimized for the characteristics of Nintendo's hybrid system, the game itself has undergone improvements in its gameplay and lifespan which make it a thoroughly enjoyable piece of work that any kind of player will be able to enjoy.

Fear Effect Sedna brings a successful series back to the front line after a long absence. This new game will be welcomed immediately by those familiar with the series but new players will find it difficult to relate with the plot, as the game makes no effort to try to connect with them. The animation scenes and soundtrack demonstrate a high level of quality and good production values but the game's strategic component is less interesting than what would be expected and its visual presentation misses out when played on the Nintendo Switch handheld format.

Bridge Constructor Portal is a welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch catalog and one which captures the Portal universe in a competent and well crafted way. While the experience can get a bit repetitive on some moments and the price is higher than that requested for the same game on mobile platforms, the game features a long lifespan, plenty of well-written humour and a constant level of challenge.

Old Man's Journey proposes a unique experience that features an interesting plot, a magnificent visual component and a series of challenges that will quickly conquer the player. While its lifespan my feel short and its price a bit too steep, Old Man's Journey is another game that is more than worthy of an opportunity and which deserves its place within the Nintendo Switch.

Twin Robots Ultimate Edition brings to the Nintendo Switch a solid and fun 2D platformer with a strategy component to help it stand out among its peers. Thanks to its cooperative mode, its system of achievements and lifespan, this is game worth considering even if it would certainly benefit from some more elements to help it differentiate itself from other 2D platformers on the console.

Detention brings back elements that will quickly make players reminisce about the first console horror games. Its plot-based design, with an involving audiovisual component and laudable art style makes the player feel wonderfully immersed in the game's atmosphere and creates one of the finest experiences available in the Nintendo Switch eShop.

Midnight Deluxe might not have the most common concept but its competent control systems and visual environment will help bridging that. Unfortunately its experience never feels completely right, as its difficulty level is too forced on the player and the game becomes repetitive all too quickly and will have a hard time in motivating its players to keep trying.

Bingo for Nintendo Switch has simple ambitions: to be a bingo game on Nintendo's hybrid console. Sadly it doesn't fulfill its job in a minimally satisfying way. Its game modes offer no added value whatsoever, there is no online component (even if there is a local multiplayer), its audiovisuals are a mess, especially the sound front and overall, there is just no reason why anyone should prefer this over the real game of bingo.

Tesla vs Lovecraft brings some unorthodox elements to the Nintendo Switch and they work: the game's action-packed screens pass the fluidity test and the gameplay is simple and fun, also thanks to its precise control system. The game also features a four-player cooperative mode and an impressively detailed visual environment, which altogether contribute this to make a significant entry in the growing list of Nintendo Switch games.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze has been seen before in previous years but this Nintendo Switch version does not miss out on anything compared to its predecessors. Thanks to its stunning visuals and amazing soundtrack, as well as to a fine level design and a difficulty level that makes it accessible to all audiences, this new version for the Nintendo Switch turns out to be yet another essential game for Nintendo's latest console.

Paper Wars: Cannon Fodder Devastated intends to be an evolution of the original game but the overall result falls short of that objective. While its gameplay is competent and the art style is rather original, the game quickly becomes too repetitive with its recycled content, its soundtrack quickly becomes something to ignore and its sale price makes it difficult to recommend.

Clusterpuck 99 may not have the most ambitious features available on the Nintendo Switch and while an online mode would certainly be appreciated, its local multiplayer allowing up to eight players and its simple controls help it become a fun and enjoyable experience that bases itself on the unusual mix of football, air hockey and 2D platforms.

Super Rocket Shootout brings an unlikely mix of 2D platforms with fighting action inspired by a familiar Nintendo series and it works well enough. Its plot is full of humour, the lifespan may be short but it's captivating and the multiplayer clearly stands out. Where Super Rocket Shootout ends up disappointing is in its too long and mandatory tutorial and on the lack of any online multiplayer functionalities.

Thanks to the game's visually stunning environment, its fun and compelling multiplayer mode, a lifespan that will keep the game alive in the players' hands and an assortment of content, Skies of Fury DX is in a very good position to captivate many Switch players for some World War One air combat.

Pirates: All Aboard! could have tried harder but other than some mild fun on multiplayer, there's very little this game has going for it. Very uninspired in terms of content, with an audiovisual environment that is pretty bleak and with a short lifespan, Pirates: All Aboard! is a game that will not leave its marking on the Nintendo Switch catalogue.
