Diego Komodowski's Reviews

Diego started playing on an Atari 2600, shortly after, he met the ColecoVision and from there on he fell in love with videogames forever. He's a host in the Checkpoint podcast/videocast, an actor, a chorus singer and a developer. He's a console fan and has a forgotten love with Sega Genesis and Dreamcast. He actually plays a lot in Playstation platforms, but he also has a Gamer PC and enjoys the benefits of Steam. He loves third person adventures and shooters, the more puzzles, the better; in the last few years he started to enjoy indie games and also Nintendo games.

The final version of a classic Xbox title is here. Besides some bugs patched in the first weeks after launch, Gears of War: Ultimate Windows 10 Edition is a good revival of the original game, and an excellent opportunity for fans and newcomers alike.

Amplitude is a pseudo remake, funded through Kickstarter, of the title homonym of PS2 released in 2003, which laid the foundations for music and rhythm games to become massive in the West.

Apr 1, 2016

Trackmania Turbo is the latest iteration from a bizarre genre, a racing game but with a roller coaster or Hot Wheels style, it is also its first appearance on consoles. It has sparked controversy among its fans.

9 / 10.0 - Nier: Automata
Mar 22, 2017

Nier: Automata is a spectacular game. It's a pseudo-perfect blend for those not-so-experienced players of Japanese RPGs. Its hack-and-slash-style fighting components and occasional shifts to the shooter genre, with frenetic camera dynamics, offer the player a fluid and welcome experience, in contrast with the classic and "slow" pace -if I may- of a typical JRPG.

From the creators of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, and after many development problems, The Last Guardian is finally among us. A game that follows the same path of the aforementioned games, it pays honor to the creative mind of Fumito Ueda and it will not disappoint it's fans in any way. A dreamy, sentimental, magical journey. Must-play.
