Andrew Duncan's Reviews

Rising the ranks from humble news writer, Andrew is now editor for GameGrin and likes writing about games from that sweet spot between retro and new.

While it's better than it could have been, it also could have been much more. As a live service game with an unfinished main story, I wouldn't feel bad about waiting for more content to drop over the coming months before you pick it up.

Hard to recommend for non-fans, but if you've read the manga or watched the anime, you'll want to experience this. If you can get past the control scheme, that is.

There are some issues with the game, but they certainly don't hamper the fun of smashing through the walls of Detroit.

Enter a world where crime doesn't happen, and investigate murder, theft, and apocalypse. Also lots of talking.

While fun, challenging, and hilarious, I Expect You To Die 3 is unfortunately not perfect. The loading times could be better, and there was the occasional stutter despite it being natively on the Meta Quest 2. But that's about it! I had a blast playing it, and I really look forward to I Expect You To Die returning.

While it can be a grindfest, fans of the CPUs will want to check it out just to see how often Noire is referred to as having no friends.

A fantastic entry in the series, and fans of the franchise should definitely pick it up. RPG fans in general will also enjoy it, though it can become a little easy.

When it opens up it might be just what you want, the only issue is that you might not play it long enough for it to open up…

The poor writing and bad direction don't take away too much from the co-op action of this cartoon tie-in. Fans of the show will definitely get more out of it than non-fans.

8.5 / 10.0 - Moss: Book II

Moss: Book II serves as a perfect sequel to the original, though it doesn't introduce as many new things as you might want.

A really good free-to-play open world game that's easy to recommend to solo players or groups of friends.

7.5 / 10.0 - Saints Row

A fantastic addition to the Saints Row catalogue, though it's marred by a bunch of glitches and bugs that keep it just shy of excellence.

7.5 / 10.0 - Seven Pirates H
Jun 13, 2022

While not exactly breaking new ground in the genre, Seven Pirates H knows all of the notes well enough to do a decent job of it. And with all of the immature humour you'll be laughing your tits off.

A great game with loads of playtime that I'm going to keep returning to for a long time to come. If only to work off my debt.

Spend ages planning with explosives and cables only to see it fail again and again - until it doesn't. Teardown is fantastic fun.

Get your slimy appendages ready to grab this with all of your suction cups, because throwing shipping containers and launching rockets into space with your own hands has never been more fun.

Very disorienting, and not one for those who experience VR sickness, but if you can get past that it has a lot of interesting things going for it.

8 / 10.0 - The Climb 2
Oct 17, 2021

It's decent exercise, and a great experience for those who can't visit the mountain range for a climb. Cheaper than all of that mountaineering equipment, too.
