SILENT HILL: The Short Message speaks to the transcendental nature of P.T. for the survival horror genre as we know it today-a monument of great cultural importance within the industry, now lost thanks to Konami. Above all, it demonstrates the enormous magnitude of P.T. as a unique work, imitated a thousand times but never equaled. What we get in 2024 is a tasteless simulation, lacking any genuine, reflective, or penetrating qualities.

4 / 10.0 - Redfall
May 10, 2023

Redfall is an amalgamation of ideas from other more popular video games, however, lacking in its own originality and entertainment value.

4 / 10.0 - Battlefield 2042
Dec 2, 2021

Evidently, Battlefield 2042 was not ahead of schedule. The game greatly suffers from an incapacity to fundamentally understand what makes Battlefield a Battlefield game. EA and DICE failed to understand the assignment: this game is not what long time Battlefield veterans want to play.

5 / 10.0 - Doom VFR
Dec 8, 2017

This specific vision of DOOM is not compatible with PlayStation VR. Mainly due a horrific controls scheme that breaks everything DOOM stood for: a frenetic combat ballet that uses both weapons and movement.

5.5 / 10.0 - Outriders
May 5, 2021

Outriders feel like a game designed by two different teams with no communication. The result is a discordant third person combat experience that arrives 10 years late.

A proof of concept more than a game itself.

6 / 10.0 - Somerville
Nov 15, 2022

Somerville takes inspiration from 2 great modern classics, Limbo and Inside, however, it falls short to offer a deep contemplative experience. Despite some technical difficulties, it offers great value as a visually compelling puzzle adventure.

6 / 10.0 - Scorn
Oct 14, 2022

An atmospheric experience more than a game itself, Scorn is a desolate travel reminiscent of old school adventure games like Myst.

6 / 10.0 - Anthem
Mar 5, 2019

Anthem struggles to deliver an engaging and ongoing experience to return and grind every day. Even if you manage to look above his flaws, like underwhelming loot design, mission structure and rigid combat, there is little joy to be found in this game.

Is Call of Duty: Vanguard a good game? It depends. If it is your first Call of Duty, it will be one of the best experiences in your life. However, if Vanguard is your nineteenth Call of Duty you will find a visually impressive, yet hollow, campaign, a multiplayer that soon becomes routine, and a disappointing zombie mode.

6.5 / 10.0 - For Honor
Feb 22, 2017

For Honor has the best, most innovative and rewarding combat system we have seen in years. However, the whole experience is crippled by poorly designed game modes and progression schemes; a broken matchmaking system and online instability. It's best to avoid it for now and wait a few months until the developer can fix its problems.

6.8 / 10.0 - Minecraft Legends
Apr 21, 2023

Minecraft Legends falls short of the quality and depth of its predecessor and leaves much to be desired for those seeking a more complex and strategic challenge.

7 / 10.0 - Diablo IV
May 30, 2023

Diablo IV remained stuck in the past while trying to find innovation without generating friction with fans who have played the franchise for over two decades; It feels like the ghost of Diablo Immortal continues to haunt the halls of Blizzard. The game is more of a reinvention of the classic experience, focusing on a games-as-a-service format to ensure another decade of content for Diablo.

7 / 10.0 - Dread Templar
Jan 31, 2023

I liked my time with Dread Templar, especially when the game took off and began to offer a challenge on par with the best exponents of the young retro FPS subgenre. On the other hand, I think it needed a bit of work to really stand out, perhaps by handling the upgrade system or the boss battles in a different way. In any case, Dread Templar is a good game that understands the classic fundamentals of the genre and contains adrenaline-pumping moments in polished and emotional combat.

7 / 10.0 - Lost Ark
Feb 24, 2022

Dragged down by a dated and boring campaign, Lost Ark is saved by an engaging and visually attractive combat system. Although it has payed elements, it's a good choice for an MMO with tons of content.

Quality of life improvements, the new UI, and even Historical Battle mode, are additions highly appreciated; however, they are not enough justification to return to Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, unless you are already a die hard fan.

STAR WARS: Squadrons is a very well-accomplished installment of the franchise. A complete surprise thanks to the effective combination of arcade action and hard simulation. However, not everything shines; the limited scope, in campaign and multiplayer, drags down what could be a solid entry in the franchise.

7 / 10.0 - A Way Out
Jan 1, 1970

A Way Out intended to renew the forgotten split screen cooperative experience, but fell short in its execution. The result is not as overwhelming as you think; A Way Out is fun and it's better to play with a partner on the couch. However, if you wanted to find the holy grail of the cooperative gaming, maybe you should look elsewhere.

7 / 10.0 - Crackdown 3
Feb 21, 2019

Despite all the promises and the delays, Crackdown 3 is an unexpected miracle. It's genuinely a fun game to pick up and play for a couple of days, but not for longer, as its dated design will turn this experience into a boring and monotonous adventure. Might not be worth the full price, but for members of Xbox Game Pass it's an obligatory stop.
