With a faster combat mechanic than ever, better visuals and the same challenging gameplay as before, Dark Souls 3 delivers an adventure that will hook you up for many, many hours. It might not be as good as Bloodborne, mainly because some technical flaws, and a little less appealing world – but it’s close enough.

This is an adventure that not only rounds off the story of Nathan Drake in the best possible way, but also sets a new standard for what lavish action adventures should look like.

This is an absolutely brilliant adventure, which alone can match the giants of the genre. At the same time, it is also with a certain melancholy that we are now waving goodbye to The Witcher 3.

With minimal tricks, Playdead not only manages to hold us to a stranglehold, but also joins the crowd of developers who want to say something for real.

6 / 10 - ReCore
Sep 12, 2016

Recore is one of those games that sounds better than it is. It's an interesting fusion of genres, the story is well written and the world is beautiful. But the gameplay gets a bit monotonous after a couple of hours and the level design feels uninspired. Still, with the price tag in mind, its might be worth a closer look if you looking for a solid action adventure game.

6 / 10 - NHL 17
Sep 15, 2016

It has been a fact for a couple of years now that EA Sports NHL series is in need of a big renovation. The graphics is starting to look dated, the physics isn't nearly as good as PES or FIFA and the AI is unbalanced – particularly the goalie part. NHL 17 is still a pretty decent game for the hockey fans, but it's hard to not feel a bit disappointed.

PES 2017 is in many way the game that PES 2016 should have been. It shares the same deep mechanics, but the AI – especially the goalies – is so much better. PES 2017 may be a let down for those who want as many licenses as possible, for everyone else this is one of the best soccer games ever.

If you haven’t played Bioshock before, this is truly a masterpiece of collection. It includes three great action games, and especially the first two is still outstanding. Howerer, Bioshock: The Collection doesn’t really offer anything new. It would have been more than welcome with more content for those that already have played through the series.

After over seven years it feels surrealistic to finally play The Last Guardian. Has it been worth the wait? No idea – some players will complain about the unpolished controls, the graphics and the bad camera angels. On the other hand the story is beautiful and the world is as stunning as it was in Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. For us, this is one of the best adventures in the recent years.

7 / 10 - Yakuza 0
Jan 27, 2017

In all its weirdness Yakuza 0 is as charming as the series ever has been. It isn't a game for everyone, but for those who fall for this there will be tons of stuff to do, wonderful settings to visit and well-written characters to meet.

9 / 10 - Nioh
Feb 2, 2017

It’s hard not to see Nioh as a Dark Souls with Japanese mythology. But as soon as you get used to the mechanics, Nioh has several features that make it unique. Aside from some less inspired stages, and a bit outdated graphics, this is a perfect action game – and one of the best there is in the genre.

7 / 10 - Yooka Laylee
Apr 4, 2017

With colorful graphics, playful game design and charmig characters, Yooka-Leylee is a throwback to the platform genre of the 90's. It's not perfect, but if you're a fan of Banjo-Kazooie, Super Mario 64 and Donkey Kong 64 you'll probably have a lots of fun with this.

9 / 10 - Bayonetta
Apr 13, 2017

Even after seven years, Bayonetta is still one of the best action games you can get. And if you haven't played it yet (or just want to re-visit it) the pc version is by far the best choice, with 60 frames per second.

7 / 10 - Arms
Jun 7, 2017

The mechanics in Arms isn't perfect, as the motion controller can be tricky to get used to. Aside for that, this is a surprisingly deep fighting game that reminds us of Punch-Out. Fun, colorful and with a great online-mode.

8 / 10 - Splatoon 2
Jul 18, 2017

Splatoon 2 is probably the best online multiplayer game Nintendo ever has made. Sure, it may feel a bit familiar, but so does every new installment of Battlefield and Call of Duty. A no-brainer if you have a Switch.

5 / 10 - Hey! Pikmin
Jul 26, 2017

The 3ds version of Nintendos beloved Pikmin series is a bit of a disappointment. The level design feels lazy, the graphics is outdated and the mechanic overall isn't nearly as fun as the previous Pikmin games.

6 / 10 - NHL 18
Sep 13, 2017

NHL 18 has some well needed upgrades, but overall this is far from a perfect hockey game. The main problem is the physics, that is in need of a big improvement.

8 / 10 - FIFA 18
Sep 25, 2017

Fifa 18 is just as good as expected. The physics is better than last year, and so are the visuals. A few weird bugs a side; Fifa 18 is a great game that will keep you busy until Fifa 19.

Steamworld Dig 2 is better than the first one in every single aspect. The level design is outstanding and the graphics are charming as ever when it comes to Image & form. The best indie game of 2017 so far.
