Insurgency: Sandstorm hits the mark on consoles as well, proving to be a tactical shooter that's not easy to master but extremely rewarding for those who love its hardcore gameplay and slow, reasoned firefights.

8 / 10.0 - Hell Let Loose
Oct 13, 2021

Hell Let Loose is one of the best WWII shooters, certainly not suitable for everyone due to his hardcore gameplay but still rewarding if played with the right collaborative spirit.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is certainly a good return to World War II by Sledgehammer, especially in terms of multiplayer modes: many maps, customizable weapons with numerous options and a progression system to applause. On the other hand, the single player campaign is just enough, far from being considered epic, while the Zombies mode needs to be expanded as soon as possible.

8 / 10.0 - Atomic Heart
Feb 20, 2023

Atomic Heart turned out to be a pleasant surprise, a charismatic first-person shooter with gameplay ideas applied almost to perfection. Leaving aside the uninteresting open world stages, the development team managed to create a world with a remarkable aesthetic quality despite the presence of several bugs. In any case, Atomic Heart represents a good first work for Mundfish and, above all, remains a fun and brutal FPS in its Soviet madness.

In some ways, Immortals of Aveum can be seen as a wasted opportunity to give shooter fans a memorable experience with an outstanding graphics. Instead, Ascendant Studios' debut game turned out to be just a good first-person shooter that entertains without being boring, thanks to a surprising RPG component and gameplay that excellently does its job of entertaining players. In addition to a decent story and a not particularly long campaign, Immortals of Aveum also has to contend with a less-than-stable frame-rate and other flaws that do not allow it to be one of the best shooters of the last years.

With its abundance of playable content and a very attractive setting such as the island of Oʻahu, The Crew Motorfest attempts to chase the success of Forza Horizon 5 by proposing the same structure proposed by the racing game developed by Playground Games. The result is all in all positive, although Ivory Tower's gaming experience fails to stand out for originality or being qualitatively flawless.

8 / 10.0 - Endless Dungeon
Oct 24, 2023

After developing the excellent Humankind, Amplitude Studios has shown what it is capable of with a challenging and fun twin-stick shooter. The ideal sequel Dungeon of the Endless is not perfect, however, due to some flaws related to the narrative and technical aspects, nevertheless it manages to entertain for hours with its endless loop of alien creatures to face and the exploration of procedurally generated scenarios.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a good metroidvania that makes its intriguing gameplay its most appreciable aspect, which offers many accessibility-related options that allow the game experience to be fully customized. Although it is not flawless in some aspects, such as an uninspired character design and a difficulty balance that is not properly calibrated, Ubisoft Montpellier's new game is a must play for all fans of the genre and the Prince of Persia franchise.

Helldivers 2 is an enjoyable third-person shooter, especially in good company. It is. It is often challenging to play but equally rewarding in terms of gameplay.

8 / 10.0 - Everybody's Golf
Aug 29, 2017

Clap Hanz's reboot for one of the most popular brands in the PlayStation history has managed to achieve a great balance between fun and new mechanics, such as the MMO-esque hub that allows you to interact with other players in such different ways. A great return for the beloved golf franchise.

All in all Armature Studio has done a good job with Where the Heart Leads, offering a story-driven adventure based on choices that influence the story of the protagonist, but not very satisfying in terms of gameplay.

To be honest, Rainbow Six Extraction is a good PvE shooter that works very well when played with friends and offers great gunplay. Well, it is also true that the overall balance is not optimal and the difficulty rate is sometimes too high, but if you are a fan of Rainbow Six: Siege then you will be able to gloss over these negatives.

7.9 / 10.0 - Rollerdrome
Aug 16, 2022

Rollerdrome is an acrobatic shooter of undoubted value in terms of gameplay, frenetic and spectacular, thanks to its mix of armed clashes and tricks on roller-skate. In all the rest it fails to live up to Roll7's previous masterpieces, even if it remains a fresh gaming experience that can offer a good challenge.

7.9 / 10.0 - Tchia
Mar 20, 2023

Definitely different from other dispersive and soulless open world experiences, Tchia is a tropical adventure that pays homage to the culture and territorial beauties of New Caledonia. However, this scaled-down version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has its shortcomings, including technical stability issues and a not-so-great story longevity. In any case, Tchia remains a fun game that knows how to make players fall in love with the unique culture of the Kanak people.

7.9 / 10.0 - EA Sports PGA Tour
Apr 7, 2023

EA Sports PGA Tour is a good golf simulation that marks the return of the series after years of absence from the green, even if EA Tiburon hasn't managed to make a "hole in one" despite offering satisfying gameplay. The realization of the courses and the physics of the ball is truly remarkable, while the pleasant visual appearance clashes with some technical defects linked to an imperfect use of Frostbite. Overall, EA Sports PGA Tour is an enjoyable gaming experience, designed primarily for golf enthusiasts.

7.8 / 10.0 - Dead Island 2
Apr 18, 2023

Dead Island 2 is a classic zombie-themed action game that offers hours of fun in its amusing brutality, with thousands of undead to slay in the most creative ways and a collection of weapons suitable for every need. However, the lack of originality limits the potential of a gaming experience that doesn't shine in terms of story and mission variety. Fighting zombies from Beverly Hills to Santa Monica is still satisfying, but after almost ten years of waiting for Dead Island 2 we would have expected something more than an action game that does its duty and nothing more.

Even though Super Mega Baseball 4 is a good game that fans of this sport will surely appreciate, after three years, we would have expected a general step forward that has yet to quite happen. Franchise mode was further improved, and the addition of some baseball legends is still welcome, but some athlete animations still need to be fixed, and the HUD felt too confusing. In short, if you are looking for an excellent alternative to MLB The Show 23, Super Mega Baseball 4 could be a good choice, even if the series developed by San Diego Studio undoubtedly remains the best on the market.
