While such speedy, bumpy or even battling formula may disrupt some calm purists because of the constant pressure, it orientation towards multi player competition and online bursts shows Camelot's very own vision of this sport.

Two years later, some dark clouds are still shrouding Sky : Children of the Light, from technological or ergonomic points of view. But these prove superficial ways to consider ThatGameCompany's work, since it affirms a unique experience towards universality, expressed through a poetic style, an empathic approach and above all shared emotions, even more powerful thanks to cross-play. This philosophy echoes with the harmoniously introduced story of The Little Prince, that highlights such freedom of investment or interpretation.

Beyond the obvious Minecraft inspiration, Dragon Quest Builders is based on a solid, subtly ironic narrative which creates not only reason for these building tasks, but also life into this 3D rendition of Alefgard. And it gets sharper on Nintendo Switch with the Great Sabrecub that literally cuts through the potentially more pixel arted Terra Incognita mode, even if such retro nostalgic additions can't counterbalance the limited sharing options and the lack of multi player, thus consolidating this fundamentally solitary experience as a whole.

Carried by the Layton family's experience in mystery, Katrielle starts her detective career with modern resolutions, such as the episodic investigation proceedings. But the cases and their protagonists ultimately lack depth, while the whole plot looks like a long introduction. The puzzles and mini games also appear less inspired, or bold, since Kat solves the most relevant riddles by herself anyway. Let's hope that she's keeping more tricks in her hat for the upcoming adventures...

True to the series' heritage, Kirby Star Allies asserts its apparent simplicity through a candid, somehow heartbreaking scenario, a vibrant artistic direction, and a sweet gameplay fundamentally built for conviviality, with ennemies that can also become skillful buddies once befriended. This amicable approach creates sympathetic cooperative operations and wonderful sequences of grouped transformations, but it results in a constrained, hence linear level design. While the new powers reveal interesting and potentially overpowerful teamwork synergies, those are only exploited into the rather short additional modes. More generosity, imagination and even boldness were expected from this moving, then ultimately nostalgic adventure.

While the classic campaign only revamps the old, individualistic, yet outrageaously randomised formula by developing few recent additions, Super Mario Party displays a more strategic approach through special dices dedicated to each character and cooperative modes. As expected from Big Ant, AO Tennis 2 looks more like a big update of the previous version than a brand new episode, and once again largely relies on the community to complete the content. While still lacking some tennis expertise, the australian studio managed to optimize the gameplay, that finally shows its potential full of delicacy - in every sense of the word. The main additions focused on immersion emphasize this laudable quest for authenticity, although their rather limited impacts tend to exhibit the superficial side of this production, yet unfinished, but built on solid bases.

Super Mario 64 keeps its whole interest from historic and nostagic points of view, a revolutionary approach that Super Mario Sunshine spreads in every sense of the word, while Super Mario Galaxy takes off literally outer space, among the brightest three dimensional platformers. Such true ports preserve these masterpieces' authenticity, but the Super Mario 3D All-Stars title suggested more, both in content and style. Brilliant HD renditions with fully available soundtracks on the go don't shine enough to overshadow some old issues and Super Mario Galaxy 2's glaring omission from this otherwise stellar collection.

On the face of it, Tennis World Tour 2 may look like a simple update, but it is a real overhaul in depth, both quantitatively and qualitatively. This translates into more powerful sensations and a more realistic overall rendering, thanks to a more subtle management of timing as well as risk-taking, although floats remain due to still very intrusive audiences.
