3 / 10 - Liberated
Jun 2, 2020

Liberated seemed like a good idea, but this comic book-inspired action platformer is a game without any idea, which do not even reach to anything at all. With its stiff control, poor collision, repetitive action and oh-so clich' story, the game do not even take advantage of its comic book format.

3 / 10 - Morphies Law
Sep 6, 2018

Morphies Law is a laughable game. But you laugh at it, not with it. If the mass transfer might be a very well-though alternative to the TPS genre, the game's physics and unstable controls will irritate the msot patient of gamers. It's three varied modes might have been a good excuse to grind and try the different weapons offered by the game, but I might by quite difficult to enjoy Morphies Law otherwise than being passably drunk.

4 / 10 - Witchcrafty
Jul 27, 2021

Witchcrafty is one of the very last games of the PS Vita. The game is shipped unfinished, with tons of collisions, IA and damage bugs which change at every run. To enjoy this visually charming sorcery adventure, you will have to cope with the dark forces of randomness working against you.

Balan Wonderworld is sadly an old-school platformer with all of the 90's worst flaws. Yet colorful, Yuji Naka's first game with Square Enix lacks almost everything, and everyone who likes even a tiny bit the genres should look somewhere else to find some fun.

4 / 10 - Pong Quest
May 14, 2020

PONG Quest seems a first like a nice mix between the old-school Pong matches and the rogue-lite/dungeon crawler genres. But thanks to generic and random dungeons, too much randomness and a useless length, the old fans of old might not see the end of its five stages, and mandatory grinding. Too bad, because some fights were worth the trip.

With this second episode, The Legacy of the First Blade knifes all the roleplay Ubisoft spent dozens of hours to build in a three-hour short and highly questionable story. Even the great battleships and a brand new weapon wil not save Assassin's Creed Odyssey from this wrongly twisted cliffhanger that might disappoint most adventurers out there.

Playing Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 makes us wonder why Capcom split the Mega Man X series in two. With the same bonus than the first compilation, you are left with episodes X5 to X8, which carry with them the licence into an abyss of torpor. Why would you get this second part ? We do not know either.

There was so much to hope from Monster of the Deep : its shimmering universe is pretty amazing once equipped with the PlayStation VR, and the game offers a beautiful walk in the land of Eos. Unfortunately, Square Enix's first virtual reality game misses the spot by falling short on ideas : the game repeats the same mechanics from start to bottom. Still, the idea of defeating a gigantic boss using a crossbow before shoeing him offers some satisfaction from time to time, but the adventure itself looks more like a storm in a teacup.

AER is trying so hard to look like those beloved games from which it is being inspired, but fails to do so. The game is filled with bugs and do not tell us an interesting story all along. Even though some aerial moments are quite a delight, the total lack of wind is incomprehensible, as the rest of the gameplay. Why would you want to play this ? We are still looking for an answer.

With The Smurfs - Mission Vileaf, Osome Studio offers a kind of huge tutorial to 3D platformers: folded in the space of just a few hours, the adventure is only for beginner players in full development of their fine motor skills. With beacons every two meters and invisible walls in abundance, this initiatory course with a very nice tone remains much too wise to satisfy other profiles.

Despite the prospect of discovering the green lands of Ireland, it's hard to get excited after a dozen hours spent on The Wrath of the Druids: this first expansion of Assassin's Creed Valhalla is content despite a handful of novelties to recycle the formula of the main adventure, which may quickly tire those who have already completed it. While waiting for the Siege of Paris, which we hope will be much more inspired, we will advise the conquerors to go quietly to their business, waiting for better, less misty days.

5 / 10 - Haven
Dec 3, 2020

Despite its charming story and truly endearing characters, Haven does not deliver the adventure it once promised. Between its cryptic mecanics, redundant environments and rough battles, it seems like the game does not want to player ton pursue the adventure or have a pleasant time. Too bad, because Danger's soundtrack and the story of Yu and Kay should have need a better treatment.

Star Wars Episode 1 : Racer could have been a nice port on Switch, but the game still suffers from too many flaws to really satisfy. Fast and exhilarating, this Switch version seems unfinished, and features bugs, poping and clipping effects, without mentionning a horribly compressed soundtrack that does not justice to its brilliant composer.

5 / 10 - Bloodroots
Feb 27, 2020

BloodRoots is unfortunately not as fun as its initial promise would have made us think. Despite the undeniable fun given by the freedom of butchering your ennemies with an infinity of items, the repetitiveness of its gameplay mecanics, its un precise collisions and idle camera runs short after a couple of ours.

5 / 10 - 198X
Jan 29, 2020

198X is a true love letter to the old arcade genre : through a retro trip of five different mini games, Hi-Bit's celebration only manages to copy and paste tiny bits of classic ones. Thanks to a clich' narration, 198X does nothing but tell how good the past used to be, and how much the present suck. If you still possess the original, there is not much need to play this wanabee experience.

Despite its trueness to the original comic books, Blacksad : Under the Skin is way too weak on a technical point of view to keep the adventure interesting until the end. Meanwhile a serious update to correct all the visible flaws, only the true hardcore fans should jump in.

With Grandia HD Collection, GungHo had everything to succeed. And if both adventures still offers a strong experience, the game is filled with way too much bugs in every aspect to deliver a sastisfying experience. Filled with errors, the new French translation rubs shoulders with crashes and audio inconsistencies. Too bad, because the gameplay mecanics are still interesting, decades later.

On paper, Sea of Solitude is an interesting and introspective story about Kay, a young and lone girl in the throes of depression. But despite many efforts to make us feel for the poor girl, the EA Originals game suffers from way too many draft collisions, and a poor acting that do not tribune an obvious and tearful story.

The Legacy of the First Blade last part delivers a clumsy conclusion to Assassin's Creed Odyssey journey, by recycling the same missions and mechanics once more, only to lead its story to the end and satisfy some fans of the saga. With a single naval battle, a kind of cheated new ability and a bland last boss, this third DLC runs short on idea, and do not reach the quality of Assassin's Creed Odyssey main story.

Under its good looks as a true Game Boy hommage, Save me Mr Tako only delivers the bare minimum : its uninspired level design sometimes try to hide a story which you should not give too much attention to. Save me Mr Tako is simply way too classical to face the strong opponents it has to face.
