7 / 10.0 - Haimrik
Jun 13, 2018

A fortuitous series of events gift Haimrik a magical book with a difference. What follows is a platforming, puzzle solving calamity with intermittent eviscerations and the odd lioness mauling.

Turtlepop: Journey to Freedom is a fun title that doesn't fail to charm the socks off you. It follows the adventures of Bebo, Deephi, Slimmie, Willis, and Sparky as they attempt to make their way to freedom and throws in a ton of genres along the way.

8 / 10.0 - THE VIDEOKID
Jun 13, 2018

The Videokid is developer Pixeltrip's modern runner with a retro twist. It puts players back in an era when VHS was the only way to watch movies at home. As a thoroughly irresponsible teenager, we take to our skateboard to deliver tapes, cause mischief, and avoid oncoming obstacles. This is our Videokid review.

8 / 10.0 - Joggernauts
Oct 11, 2018

Out now on PC and Nintendo Switch, Joggernauts is a tale of sprinting space cats and athletic aliens. It follows a group of elite alien athletes after crash landing in an unknown sector of space. In order to piece together their ship and reassemble any hopes of getting home, you and your friends need to run, jump, and switch through a plethora of crazy levels in this couch coop.

9 / 10.0 - Abzu
Dec 6, 2018

I would love to talk through the game in more specific detail but that would ruin an incredible story with real depth. Abzu is a brilliant experience and available;e on the Nintendo eShop. Take the plunge and check it out on Nintendo Switch now.

Override: Mech City Brawl is definitely one for the fans. The more I play this brawler, the more I realize that it apes Saturday morning Super Sentai and late night Kaiju shows. Little touches like the cardboard architecture, silly weapons, and satisfying reward scheme make for a game that I have not been able to put down since launch. Override: Mech City Brawl is a unique mix of colorful chrome plated mayhem and explosive combat that will blow you away.

7 / 10.0 - Coffee Crisis
Jan 8, 2019

Coffee Crisis is a fun throwback to the retro era. It takes a few new ideas, an interesting theme and simply has fun with things. If you are looking for a modern fighter with a variety of ideas you might want to look elsewhere. If you love metal and having fun just bashing face, then coffee crisis brews up a storm.

Octahedron is definitely worth your time. It is simple yet challenging and I imagine that, just like Just Shapes & Beats, this will be in my long term rotation as I slowly edge towards that final neon cube in the sky.

At its heart, Nairi: Tower of Shirin is a magical adventure. It contains quite serviceable puzzles and a solid set of character dialogue that should hold your attention for most of the narrative.

4 / 10.0 - Clock Simulator
Jan 30, 2019

Clock simulator really is a cluster of mini-games that set players against the clock. This is an interesting idea that doesn't quite go far enough meaning that the bell tolls far too quickly for this unusual indie game.

At Sundown Shots in the Dark is fundamentally a good game. It has a quirky retro graphics, some intelligent design and I'd happily give it another try on the PC.

It’s a cute indie quest that takes you on a beautiful journey. It won’t change your world but I can’t help but recommend that you share Rime and Ember’s.

Despite an obvious need to mix things up and curate a more vibrant online audience, Sword and Soldiers 2: Shwarmageddon has plenty that is good about it.

9.5 / 10.0 - APE OUT
Mar 20, 2019

I adore Ape Out. Visually it seems very uncomplicated, but step into the shoes of this gorilla and you will find that its simplicity belies a very considered approach to game design.

With a deceptively linear quest and extremely accessible challenges, it is unsurprising that Hob: Definitive Edition, like RiME, is not the most cerebral challenge. It is, instead, a gorgeous journey that dutifully sweeps you away into another world.

7 / 10.0 - Weedcraft Inc

Weedcraft is unlike any strategy game I’ve had the pleasure to play. It definitely gets a high score despite the mediocre soundtrack and farming mechanics that can prove tiresome in the long run.
