7.7 / 10.0 - God Eater 3
Feb 6, 2019

God Eater 3 is a good hunting game, altough not a perfect one. The RPG structure focused on equipment and allies' growth allows to stage great hunts against giant monsters in a post-apocalyptic world. It is also possible to share everything both on single and online playing. By the way the game mantains its historical flaws such as being repetitive and running with a very raw graphic. Old fans will immediately feel at ease, but newcomers will have to take some time to ponder and get used to the system and narration proposed by the game.

It doesn't matter which console you play it on: Final Fantasy IX still remains a timeless masterpiece, and thus we can only be glad to see its success on the Nintendo digital store. However, this Switch edition is basically the same that was published on PS4 and PC on last two years, so if you already own it on one of these two platforms, there is no real need to buy it again.

Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning is one of those rare cases which a remastered has got its sense out of commercial reasons. A fine tuned narrative background plays well with a stylish system and shining environments, with some good ideas both on scenography and characters. If you will have the will to overcome a game structure that directly comes from 2012, you can rediscover a very underrated game. Let's just hope they will fix its technical issues.

Assassin's Creed The Rebel Collection does not bring anything new to the series, yet this was expectable. Fortunately the Nintendo Switch conversion went unharmed, and both games allow two big single-player "pirate simulators" to be portable. Shay and Edward suffer little technical issues but their respective design limits are counteracted by each other, even for the majority of the public only Black Flag will be worth the buy. Only for collection or if you didn't have the chance to play these games on current gen.

8 / 10.0 - Okami HD
Dec 11, 2017

Okami HD re-enacts on PS4 and Xbox One one of the most courageous and inspired game of the PS2 generation. An adventure that fuses Shinto mythology and and Japanese folklore into a "Zelda" structure, to develop a great painted legend. If the brush-based gameplay has aged very well, others minigames and some camera angles make evident it's a PS2 game. If you never play Okami on previous consoles, you should buy it at once; if you already possess it, it will attract you only if you're a collector.

L.A. Noire is a masterpiece. It deserves this title because it refuses the grandeur of other Rockstar games to obtain a more reflective and investigative gameplay. The game is an actually detective story, and we can be only glad that we have it also on PS4 and XOne. By the way this port keeps all technical issues of the PS3-360 generation, and it does not feature any extra content. If you haven't played it yet before, you should take it at once, but if you bought it back in 2011, you'll be attracted by it only if you're a collector or a 4K lover.

8.8 / 10.0 - MediEvil
Oct 23, 2019

MediEvil on PlayStation 4 is history that repeats itself. An independent developer who has an idea or a mission big enough to make them overcome the low budget with creativity and love for their work. A faithful remake with interesting solutions to make an old game live in 2019, but also with limitations that stop it to be the best one on this generation. It’s also doubtful that this game will be able to draw new players because of its inexperience and rigidities that directly came from the 90s. But this MediEvil remains to praise because it brings back not only Sir Dan, but also his message: sometimes motivation could everything you need to achieve something great. Because in the end we are all Sir Daniel Fortesque.
