It’s been over seven years since we’ve seen an entry in the Red Faction series. The fact that they can live on is nothing short of a miracle. After all that THQ has been through over the past few years it’s nice to know that they still have love for this franchise. With this release it’s safe to say that if it does well enough a potential sequel could be on the way to follow up 2011’s Armageddon.
With plenty of replayability, fans of both twin stick and top down shooters should give Blacksea Odyssey a shot.
MOTHERGUNSHIP is a great follow up to Tower of Guns. Anyone who played and liked that game will feel right at home here and will love this game. Any fan of fast-paced first person shooters should also sink their teeth into the game.
It’s easy to lose hours at a time playing Frost, in a good way. You’ll find yourself being swallowed up by the Frost within just one or two steps from the sanctuary of the Refuge and then immediately try again hoping to reach it this time. Fans of deck building games and solo survival games will find a lot to love here.
The video game industry is still relatively young and as we see it grow we continue to find new ways to play games. Based on historical events that transpired in Tehran in 1978, 1979 Revolution: Black Friday shows us that Hollywood isn't the only industry that can tell a compelling historical story.
Talking to anyone about The Persistence is sure to almost always include comparisons to games like Resident Evil 7 and Dead Space, though it's easy to see how these comparisons exist The Persistence is really doing something completely different. With Sci-Fi. Horror and Rogue-Like characteristics all rolled into one neat little package it's hard to make any real direct comparisons to any of these games.
This game is truly for anyone that has a PSVR.
The world building in Unexplored is extraordinary. While there can be an occasional moment of lag while the game basically builds the world around you, most of the time it is seamless.
Madden ’19 is a dream for football fans.
Fans of walking simulators and story driven games will find a lot to love here. While some of the systems in the game are rather intricate they tend to be unnecessary and even tedious at times, making the gameplay and puzzles overall drab and boring. With such a mixed bag of elements it’s hard to recommend We Happy Few to anyone that isn’t up for a long game that is story based.
Though Fall of Light does little to evolve the genres that the game falls into, fans of the Souls and Diablo series will find a lot to love here. While it’s not a bad game it is somewhat forgettable.
Any fan of the platforming genre, especially those in the vein of N++ and Super Meat Boy, will love their time with Spectrum.
HackyZack is a challenging retro-ish affair that will speak to fans from the 16-bit era or so. If you enjoy challenging platformers, this game is for you.
Shikhondo Soul Eater may not change the way you look at Bullet Hell experiences, but does it really have to?
Blind has some technical hiccups that keep it from being a perfect game, but it’s still an incredibly original experience that could only be possible in VR.
