GRIS is not only a perfectly designed puzzle-platformer, it's a title that whisks the player away on a journey of colorful catharsis. Surprises are waiting around every corner of this ever-evolving world, and its stride remains strong, from the onset until the very end.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a technical showcase, but it's also one of the finest 3D action platformers since Jak and Daxter. Insomniac consistently prove that the Ratchet & Clank series is a wellspring of potential, and they've delivered a complete experience that's as full of heart as it is surprises.

Elden Ring is a marvel with scope and diversity of mind-boggling proportions. At the risk of hyperbole, it has dethroned Bloodborne as my favorite game of all time. It's all I've been able to think about since I got my hands on it, and the only thing I want to do now is play it with the rest of you.

Metroid Prime Remastered is a few things, but above all else, it's a timeless masterpiece. It's also the best-looking game on the Switch to date and the birth of an entirely self-contained genre of first-person adventure games. Having missed my chance to play it as a child, I'm humbled by its grand designs, and I'm convinced this remaster will turn many would-be fans into true believers.

Ubisoft have cherry-picked everything that has made the Far Cry series successful, and distilled it into a single, laser-focused package. Far Cry 5 probably isn't going to blow anyone's mind, but it provides a continuously fun experience that avoids the repetition and formulaic nature of past titles.

Steamworld Dig 2 is a fantastic introduction for new players to the Metroidvania genre and offers more than enough to keep seasoned veterans fully engaged. A must-have for anyone with a Switch, this gem could charm even the most jaded gamer with its genuine, lovingly crafted world.

Monster Hunter: World is a balancing act of accessibility and classic appeal. Novice fans will enjoy the reasonable streamlining and fluid combat, while veterans will relish in the seemingly endless challenges set aside for high ranked players. If you're a Switch owner with a penchant for arcade games or shoot-em-ups, this is an easy recommendation. Just be sure to put on your learning pants if you're a newcomer: Ikaruga is a difficult beast to wrangle.

Just Shapes & Beats is an audio-visual masterpiece, and I give serious kudos to the talented artists and designers who blended their crafts in such a tight display. With a staggering variety of options for gameplay, fun party modes, and a thoroughly catchy tracklist, developer Berzerk has delivered a standout rhythm title.
