Fans of the series will quickly find in Harvest Moon: One World that the glamor of the previous day is unfortunately gone. Farmer's life is surprisingly monotonous and boring with little detail, graphically outdated and playfully flat. The five different regions provide a bit of relief, but due to the shallow action and tasks they can hardly motivate over a longer period of time.

Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris is only recommendable for hardcore fans of the series. Only than you can overlook the terrible narrative and arduous fighting system. What makes this game especially exhausting is the bad technical performance which leads to a lot of frustrating moments, that shouldn't happen in this console generation anymore.

6.7 / 10.0 - Tell Me Why
Aug 27, 2020

Contrary to its predecessors Tell me Why can't really make an impact in the first episode. Not only due to it being very short but also the cryptic story build up with little to none decision options that can't be rescued by the uninteresting side characters that get introduced in it.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel: Dawn of the Battle Royale !! is an example that new is not always better. The Rush Duel mechanic is at most a nice gimmick that fails to carry an entire video game. The main reason for this is the small number of cards and the mandatory use of ready-made decks. The unconsumed characters and the accessible game world do not provide any consolation.

6.9 / 10.0 - Marvel's Avengers
Sep 8, 2020

Marvel’s Avengers is an ambitious project that wants to pull players in with well known super heroes. Sadly it shows pretty quickly its weaknesses in terms of gameplay and the lack of endgame content. Besides the surprisingly good story the bad parts predominate throughout the whole game including the matchmaking in the multiplayer.

6.9 / 10.0 - JUMP FORCE
Feb 13, 2019

Announced as one of Bandai Namco's biggest titles, Jump Force turns out to be another unloving anime adaptation that does not even match all of its unique characters. The great animations in the fight can hardly compensate for the weak plot and bad presentation. Thus, the alleged games highlight turns out to be an entertaining fun for all fans, but over a longer period of time does not know how to motivate.

7 / 10.0 - Forspoken
Jan 30, 2023

Fans had high hopes that Forspoken would be Square Enix's next potential hit. Unfortunately, the developers of Luminous Productions once again reveal a major weakness in the way the story is told. To make matters worse, there is a fundamentally unsympathetic protagonist who, in the absence of supporting secondary characters, is all the more the focus. Even the unused and well-developed magic system can't save much anymore.

7 / 10.0 - Chocobo GP
Mar 3, 2022

In principle, Chocobo GP is good. Thanks to the charming story mode but sadly the low amount of different tracks and mediocre balancing and driving experience doesn't deliver an alternative to games like Mario Kart.

After Man of Medan and Little Hope, Supermassive Games doesn't manage to surpass Until Dawn with House of Ashes either. This is not due to the unfamiliar setting, but to the characters in it. Completely overdrawn and clichéd, the player is rather happy at the beginning if he accidentally gets rid of one. To make matters worse is the technical quality, which from the graphics to the control is hardly convincing. Thanks to a strong last third, House of Ashes still manages to turn things around and brings it to a positive conclusion.

7 / 10.0 - Just Dance 2021
Nov 17, 2020

Just Dance 2021 is a game for fans who can't get enough of dancing. Unfortunately, the title doesn't have more to offer either, because the idea from last year to create more playful depth has apparently been discarded again. Seen in this way, apart from the new songs, there is little new to offer, which in the end creates the character of an update rather than that of a full-price videogame. A problem that has been emerging for a long time and with which one is not alone.

Even 15 years after the original release Destroy All Humans! is a great example for satire done right. The gameplay and graphics are adjusted to modern standards but there isn't much more added to the original, which makes the Remake also an diverting adventure, missing its potential.

Except for its staging, the story mode of My Hero One’s Justice 2 is completely convincing. Fans in particular get their money's worth in the entertaining battles from the point of view of the heroes and villains. Unfortunately, this does not apply to the rest of the game, which hardly adds value with uninspired content.

One Punch Man: A Hero Nobody Knows is not a bad anime implementation, but unfortunately not a good one either. The new hero arrival system, various events and items as well as the detailed characters from the series bring a breath of fresh air into the fighting. This also gives the luck factor an enormous weighting, which is not necessarily advisable in a beat’em up.

You won't find anything here that makes the original Manga so special but the game manages to delivery some interesting side quests and gameplay to keep you entertained for some hours.

Unfortunately, Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles does not manage to meet the high expectations. The title suffers from the usual weaknesses of various other implementations, which cannot be ironed out despite the great fighting system. Accordingly, the game lacks game content in every nook and cranny, which makes the solid framework look terrifyingly weak.

In theory, motion control of the Nintendo Switch paired with The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD is a perfect match. What sounds quite conclusive at first has unfortunately not been implemented perfectly in practice. A further complication is the optics, which no longer meet today's standards despite HD. Even the gripping plot, which lays the historical foundation stone of the series, can only offer slight consolation.

7.3 / 10.0 - Windbound
Aug 28, 2020

For an indie title Windbound does a lot right. Graphics and sound feels just right and despite islands being a bit small there is still a lot to do on them. The non existing story and the tedious controls of your own ship are the biggest letdowns of the game.

7.3 / 10.0 - Just Dance 2020
Nov 8, 2019

Just Dance 2020 has the same problems as the annual representatives of other sports: hardly any innovations! But maybe you do not need that in a dance game. So if you can live well with forty new songs and for whom Just Dance Unlimited is not too expensive, you can access it without hesitation. The rest should at least form their own opinion as to whether this justifies a full price.

7.3 / 10.0 - Fallout 76
Nov 20, 2018

Although Fallout 76 looks like Fallout 4 right from the start, there are some technical and play-related drawbacks. The V.A.T.S., which acts as the showpiece of the series, comes too short due to the online component, which enormously reduces the RPG portion. Even though this is a multiplayer title that takes place in a huge game world, Fallout 76 looks frighteningly unfinished for a full-price title. Away from these criticisms, you can expect an enormously extensive Appalachia full of adventure, which together with friends offers numerous hours of fun!

7.4 / 10.0 - LEGO 2K Drive
May 19, 2023

LEGO Racers was yesterday, LEGO Drive is the future. At least that was the plan of 2K, who together with Lego created a kind of Forza Horizon for the playroom. And that works surprisingly well. Detailed and large worlds, peppered with numerous story and side missions as well as a wealth of challenges and collectibles await diligent explorers. Unfortunately, you have lost sight of what is probably your greatest strength: you are no longer a fun racer.
