By staying true to its roots and adding some modern design elements, Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age stands as a compelling JRPG that is a perfect starting point for any gamer that wants to know what the Dragon Quest craze in Japan is all about. We loved every minute of exploring Erdrea, fighting cool monsters and forging weapons in an adventure that took us more than 80 hours to complete.

With good level design, charming graphics and fun multiplayer, Kirby: Star Allies stand as one of the best entries in the franchise. Its Story Mode may be easy, and it probably won't take you a lot of time to complete, but HAL Laboratory packed a nice amount of content that will keep Kirby's biggest fans busy for a while.

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is a beautiful game that takes the soul of PS1 era JRPG to create a must play experience for every fan of the genre. Despite a great presentation and atmosphere, the game can feel like a drag by it's fetch quest format.

Four years after its original release, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker to remind us why it is one of the best puzzle platformers on the market. The Super Mario Odyssey levels, the resolution bump on TV mode and the coop experience may not be enough to buy it again, but its clever level design and original concept make it a game that Nintendo fans can't afford to miss.

Even though it doesn't shake things too much, The Frozen Wilds is a worthy expansion that is fun exploring. The DLC adds a new story, several side-quests and lots of challenges that will entertain veterans and newcomers alike.

Pokemon Ultra Sun has plenty of content to offer to those who spent hours with Pokémon Sun & Moon. Though its main campaign isn't very different from what we played in his predecessor, Game Freak cut a lot of things to make it more direct. Also, this entry has a lot of postgame content for players that want to be the very best.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is an excellent conclusion to the origin story that began in 2013. It's great system, captivating world and attractive presentation make it one of the better games of the franchise. Eidos Montreal made an honest and mature experiences that is focused in doing what it does best: being an adventure that keeps you hooked.

By adding some RPG systems, Assassin's Creed: Odysseys builds upon everything that Origins did right to create one of the best entries of the series. However, the game has some issues like boring romance options and poor AI. Despite that, Odyssey got us excited for the future of the franchise.

Super Mario Party is the game that Nintendo fans have been waiting for. It has 80 fun mini games that can be enjoyed in an assortment of game modes. Sadly, it has a couple of errors ―like a small selections of games and a poor online component― that hinder the experience.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a perfect example of what a good remake should be. Toys for Bob took everything special about the original trilogy and made it better with a fresh coat of paint. This is the definitive way of playing Spyro the Dragon.

After Pokémon GO massive success, Game Freak tried to bring some of its core mechanics to the mainline series with Pokémon: Let's Go! As a result, we have a new fresh take on the series that does a lot of things right, but also lacks in others, especially the postgame.

Sakurai did what seemed impossible and created the Super Smash Bros. game that all fans wanted. It has hours of content for single player, a great multiplayer experience and a fast paced combat that competitive players will love. Sadly, its online is far from perfect.
