7 / 10.0 - Astro Duel 2
Apr 12, 2024

Astro Duel 2 is a neat combination of two popular genres. The simple setup is fun, despite my initial issues with the controls. It could benefit from a little more variety and some kind of story mode to tie it all together, but it's an enjoyable fun time regardless.

8 / 10.0 - Pepper Grinder
Apr 3, 2024

Pepper Grinder is a platformer that wears its inspiration on its sleeve, with collectibles, checkpoints, and more in tow. It adds a unique spin to the formula with the addition of a drill mechanic, creating a fun-yet-tough experience that's satisfying to conquer. It's not a super-long game, but the challenge will keep you busy for some time regardless.

Princess Peach: Showtime! is a welcome return to the spotlight for our favorite princess. It oozes charm, with loads of variety, providing plenty to do across multiple transformations, levels, and modes. It’s not super difficult, but it’s so entertaining that I don’t care. There are also multiple challenges and collectibles to keep players coming back for more.

Rough Justice '84 has a great concept and '80s setting. Unfortunately, it's executed poorly on the Switch. Despite the cool soundtrack, there are other audio issues. The idea of solving cases might be a fun concept, but this is hard to recommend. The poor controls and user interface make this one to avoid.

Ufouria: The Saga 2 is a fun platformer full of cuteness and quirkiness. The colors and music pop, and the platforming is simple yet solid, though the adventure could be considered too easy for veterans.

7 / 10.0 - Composer World
Feb 20, 2024

Composer World is a no-frills approach to crafting songs. Despite the simple aesthetics, there's a robust creation tool on offer here. It has its faults, such as the inability to change keys and the lack of a tutorial. However if you enjoy composing, this should satisfy anyone looking for a way to unleash their music into the world.

EA Sports FC 24 is ambitiously big. It features an astounding number of real-life players and teams, and no shortage of content. It's about as authentic as you can get on the Switch. Despite a few graphical blips and an overwhelming menu system, this is an easy title to recommend to fans.

SteamWorld Build is another great entry in this long-running series. 6 / 10.0 - Super Solitaire
Dec 10, 2023

Overall, Super Solitaire is good, though it lacks alternate modes and thus presents basically one simple card game at a relatively hefty price. While it features reasons to replay, it's essentially the same formula every time. There are plenty of alternatives on the eShop for much cheaper. Fans will enjoy it, but it's more appealing on sale.

8 / 10.0 - Bish Bash Bots
Nov 17, 2023

Bish Bash Bots takes the tower defense formula and shakes it up. The ability to directly take out enemies on the field coupled with the usual deployment of defensive towers makes this a unique title. Add cute, cartoony graphics and extra incentives like costumes and missions, and you're in for a good time.
