Middle-Earth: Shadow or Morder successfully delivers an experience that you will enjoy from start to finish. The hours will just fly by as you fight through the detailed land of Mordor. The Nemesis system and Uruk Hierarchy in Saurons Army is something fresh and will keep you entertained throughout the experience. It’s a shame the story couldn’t have been a bit longer. The game is so much fun to play that it’s a real let down when you get to the end of it so soon. This game is a must buy for anyone who is a fan of fantasy hack and slash RPGs. Regardless of your knowledge of the Lord of the Rings franchise you will find your self hooked to this game.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole is a brilliant game that fans if the TV show will definitely enjoy. It has everything that makes the TV show so enjoyable. As a game, it could do with being a little more difficult with a larger map, but those minor complaints are outweighed by almost every other aspect of the game. The Fractured But Whole is a prime example of how a TV show can be effectively turned into a video game. There have been many attempts at South Park games over the years and this one is definitely one of the best. If you played the first or are a big fan of the show, you need to pick this game up.

The New Colossus does not contain any multiplayer game mode. I have spoken about how I would like to see it return in the past, but for the moment the single player experience in this game was so well polished that you get your money's worth. At the same time, I was sad to have finished the game as I didn't want it to end. Normally I would replay the game on hard to get any trophies, but since the difficulty in this game was ridiculous, I will not be putting myself through the anger of attempting it. It is a shame the difficulty was so screwed up in this as it was a big issue for me. Yea there are stealth mechanics, but the enemies spot you too easily and to make it worse, the game does a bad job at telling you which enemies are even shooting you when there is a big battle going on.

8.5 / 10.0 - Call of Duty: WWII
Dec 29, 2017

I can quite happily say that Call of Duty WWII is the best COD game that I have played in terms of the single-player experience. I wish it had of been a little longer, but It is not as short as some games in the past. The multiplayer is also a lot of fun, but if you have been playing Modern Warfare Remastered, you might not find you want to jump ship. For those thinking that there are no good zombie game modes that Treyarch did not create, you will be delightfully proven wrong with this game. As a complete package, COD WWII is one of the best games in the series and is one of the best WWII shooters that I have ever played. If you are sick to death of crazy sci-fi shooters, like I am, this game is worth every single penny!

At its core, Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a well-polished 3d platformer that has a lot of style and a very unique charm. It has pushed Sackboy even further into the realm of respected video game characters. The creativity we see in the level design may not have made its way to the puzzles but this does not stop this game being a great game to play on your shiny new PlayStation 5.

8.5 / 10.0 - Maquette
Apr 6, 2021

As a debut game, Maquette has really set the bar high for the future Graceful Decay. Between the emotional story, challenging and creative puzzles and the beautiful visual style, this game is a great showcase of the talent that lives within this development team. Maquette is a refreshing entry to the first-person puzzle genre that will provide you with more than a few challenging moments and a memorable experience.

DARQ manages to deliver a frightening experience without ever explicitly scaring you. The subtle themes of darkness and despair are woven into every room that slowly chips away at happiness to create an incredible atmosphere that rises and falls as you make your way through the rather short adventure. The use of multiple perspectives on a single 2d world does so much to enhance the challenge level without having to resort to convoluted puzzle solutions that only serve to frustrate the player. You simply have to think outside of the box and the solution will be there. DARQ is an incredibly immersive experience that should be on the list of every horror fan.

8.5 / 10.0 - Returnal
Apr 29, 2021

Returnal is a whole lot of fun to play. The adrenaline-fueled combat is complemented with flawless controls. The Dualsense haptics further amplifies the action, absorbing you into the game. The story contains more than enough mystery to catch the attention of any sci-fi lover. It drives you to discover more and does a great job at trying to explain the mechanics of a roguelike in a more mature and detailed way. The randomness of the game can be a little frustrating at times when you just can't find the items you need to survive. The inability to apply any permanent upgrades that impact your combat strength makes it very hard to stay engaged when you are faced with an obstacle that is proving to be a real challenge. Difficulty goes hand and hand with the genre and despite making your blood boil from time to time, Returnal is a masterpiece for the roguelike genre and was a worthwhile risk for the development team that really paid off. It doesn't matter how much you get your ass kicked, you will keep coming back for more.

The Director's Cut of Ghost of Tsushima makes an already stunning game one of the most impressive looking games on the market today. Iki island brings you on a fun adventure that takes a break from the more historically believable story of the main game. The adventure might be a little short but packs quite the punch. It is unfortunate that there isnt more to do on Iki island outside of the main story but considering there is quite a lot of content in the base game that you can still enjoy, the Director's Cut is a worthwhile purchase for anyone looking to step into the shoes of a samurai.

Guardians of the Galaxy delivers exactly what you want from a video game in so many areas. The characters' appearance and demeanour feel like they have been crafted so carefully to ensure you get an authentic experience that lives up to the colossal scale of the movies while remaining true to the source content and all while delivering a game that is a blast to play.

Last of Us Part 1 delivers visual quality that is beyond what you would expect from a remaster. The graphical detail surpasses that of the second game making it one of the best-looking games on PS5. Unfortunately, some of the more clunky mechanics for evading or choking out enemies remain that are a little frustrating. Overall, combat is intense and exciting with the same heart-punding interactions with clickers. For newcomers, this remaster is a real gem and a must-have. Unfortunately, outside of the graphical improvements, there is little else to justify the full price tag for those who have already played the previous remaster.

8.5 / 10.0 - Atomic Heart
Feb 23, 2023

Atomic Heart has delivered a world overflowing with creativity and artistic flair that is rivalled by the likes of Bioshock. The highly political story may not appeal to everyone but it is an incredibly interesting take on an alternative history that quickly absorbs you into the madness. The game falls short when it comes to the overall progression. The tacked-on open-world elements deliver more frustration than anything with infinitely respawning bots and very little of interest to see. Atomic Heart has the potential to be something incredible but is held back by a few, often frustrating gameplay elements.

8.5 / 10.0 - Hogwarts Legacy
Mar 7, 2023

Hogwarts Legacy gives us the best wizarding world experience we have ever had in a video game. You get to have the full Hogwarts student experience with free roam of the castle and grounds. There are so many fun side quests and activities to enjoy while also hunting for secrets and mysteries in the environment. The story is a little dull and some enemies can be bullet sponges but it does not spoil the fantastically magical adventure that this game offers.

Stick it to the Man is a really enjoyable game that gives plenty of laughs and will bring out a creative side in your brain. The game is really pretty and has a great sense of humor! It’s unfortunate that the game is so short because there is very little enjoyment to be gained from playing the game a second time. The first time you play this game will most likely be the only time you play this game so make the most of it while it lasts. Stick to the Man is well polished and is worth every penny.

As a complete package, Advanced Warfare was a really good installment into the Call of Duty series. The story was gripping and incredibly dramatic. Filled with action from start to finish with strong voice acting, beautiful cut scenes, flawless controls and really cool weapons. The campaign is one of the best in the series. The multiplayer also delivers a lot of entertainment, but it feels like the game has been mutated too much. The developer has gone too far trying to balance all of the weapons, perks and kill streaks to the point where there is no real advantage to using anything anymore. There is a lot of entertainment to be had online, but it isn’t as fun as it has been in past games.

The decisions on whether to buy this game is based on one thing. Do you like the TV show? If you love South Park then you Will love this game. The game has everything that people love about the TV show and doesn’t deviate from the shows successful formula at all. If you hate the TV show then you will hate this game, it’s as simple as that! It takes about 15 hours to complete the main quest and there are plenty of side quests that give you additional play time. This might be short when compared to other RPGs, but I don’t think they could have done a better job. The writers threw everything they had at this game and the resulting product is one of the funniest games I have ever played and one of the funniest south park stories too. The Stick of Truth is a must have for all south park fans!

8 / 10.0 - Jazzpunk
Aug 28, 2017

Jazzpunk is definitely not going to be everyone's cup of tea. I love stupid, dry humor, others will not. Regardless, it is clear that the people who came up with all of this were very talented and did a fantastic job at exciting it. I couldn't list a single flaw about this game. It is nowhere near being an AAA game, but it isn't trying to be one. Jazzpunk is just a crazy game that makes no sense and makes you laugh for the duration. So long as you see the game for what it is, you are sure to love this game. There are easter eggs in every corner, be sure to explore!

8 / 10.0 - Journey
Apr 17, 2018

A highly unusual and relaxing adventure that manages to tell the story of a journey without using a single word. The game is stunning and has a very unique visual style to it. The gameplay is simple, yet adequate for the style of game. It is a short experience that is unique and really stands out of other games in a similar genre. The lack of a narrative may turn some people off, but if you can deal with this, it is a game worth playing.

8 / 10.0 - Until Dawn
Aug 11, 2017

Until Dawn is a really impressive game. While I wasn’t the biggest fan of the typical teen horror genre, I still found this game seriously enjoyable. I would love to see more developers create games like this. The lack of guns, platforming and any other standard game play elements didn’t bother me at all. It was a fresh break away from the norm that was very welcome. The visuals were strong and it was backed up by great animation and acting. The level of polish here was very high. The story is very subjective and some people may absolutely love it. By the end of the game I loved it, but like all teen horrors you will be left wondering “why the hell are they splitting up!” and all the other typical stupid mistakes than teenagers make in these movies. If you are looking for a scare, pick this game up! It will scare the crap out of you.
