Chase: Cold Case Investigations - Distant Memories is a major disappointment.

3.5 / 10.0 - Asemblance
Jun 26, 2016

I applaud Nilo Studios for trying something different, their outstanding quality of graphics and sound, and for creating something that forces the player to think outside of the confines of the average video game.

3.7 / 10.0 - The Silver Case

As a visual novel in 2017, The Silver Case is a huge disappointment.

Unfortunately, Firewatch left me unfulfilled to say the least.

The Occupation is a classic example of a concept with great promise but poor execution.

This latest installment of the Star Ocean series leaves a blemish on its otherwise good track record.

I'm a little disappointed with this first pack of DLC given that it's so short, the tomb isn't very interesting, and the two new modes are quite similar.

5.2 / 10.0 - Twin Mirror
Dec 6, 2020

Twin Mirror is a passable mystery adventure with a varied cast and the occasional satisfying use of deductive reasoning but its story and protagonist leave a lot to be desired and on top of that, it's far too short.

As the final DLC pack, Mother Protector won't blow you away but it does a good job of tying up one of the loose ends in the main story and offers a fun decently-sized puzzle to solve, too.

5.7 / 10.0 - Draugen
Feb 19, 2020

As slow-paced first-person mystery adventures go, Draugen is about as middle-of-the-road as you could get. It offers an intriguing story with interesting subject matter in a picturesque setting yet it ultimately feels unfulfilling once the brief story reaches its conclusion.

5.8 / 10.0 - Staxel
Sep 22, 2021

Staxel delivers a mediocre mix of block-building, farming, and foraging without providing any substantial drive or reward for your efforts. In other words, you'll be better off picking up one of the many games that Staxel was inspired by instead.

Stranded Sails is an okay exploration game that rewards you for adventuring into the nooks and crannies of its tropical islands.

Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp is a welcome game for those who'd like to see how characters from the franchise would get along if they were trapped together on a tropical island. However, the gameplay is a bit too simplistic so unless you're really into grinding and collecting, you probably won't play it for long before wanting to play something more substantial from the main series.

Tales of Arise - Beyond the Dawn explores life after the main story. However, it does so without adding anything substantial and the story feels rushed which makes this DLC hard to recommend even for fans of the main game (which is, in fact, awesome). ⚔️
