Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is a mess. There is fun to be had but there it really feels like Infinity Ward really had no idea what direction they wanted to take the series in. Space battles are fun, the campaign missions are fun and the new Zombies mode is a blast, but everything else is just so mediocre that it really brings down the experience.
The Ezio Collection is a great bundle with three great games, but that's really all it is. Newer fans of Assassin's Creed that have missed out should absolutely check this out but fans that experienced it years ago really don't have much of a reason to pick this up.
Dead Rising 4 is a fun game, the Christmas theme is fantastic and the online multiplayer is pretty fun as well, however being a good game does NOT make this a good Dead Rising game.
The new episodic Hitman is one of Agent 47's greatest adventures to date and is one of the best stealth games to be released in years.
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a great port of a great game and it's great that it will have one more breath of life on current consoles before Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite comes out.
Fate/EXTELLA is a great hack and slash game that will most likely please fans of the series and please non fans who are looking for a great action game to play on their PS4.
Just like when Resident Evil 4 reinvented the series, Resident Evil 7 has done just the same. Resident Evil 7 is an absolutely terrifying and thrilling survival horror game that starts off strong and never lets up until the final credits start rolling.
Not the best but not the worst, either. It has its moments. It does a good job of translating the normal Dynasty Warriors hack-and-slash gameplay into a turn-based tactical game. But it's just not as exciting as the traditional formula of the series.
For Honor is an incredibly fun online experience with fast and fun game modes and a fantastic battle system that is simple to use but almost has the depth of a fighting game. Unfortunately, the loot box system for unlocking important items for your characters and connection issues hold For Honor back
Nier: Automata the best game from Platinum Games yet. It's an action packed game that also has an incredibly engaging story and tons of fantastic characters. This is the best action game I have played in years and one of the best games I have ever played in my life. It's gonna take a lot to take my personal Game of the Year award from Nier: Automata as its currently sitting in the top spot.
Toukiden 2 can get repetitive at times with battles that go on way too long but it's still a fun monster hunting game that fans of that genre should be able to enjoy.
Outlast 2 is visually beautiful, tense and boasts a grotesque but intriguing story. Unfortunately, the overabundance of atrocious chase sequences completely destroy any and all tension and fun the game has going for it.
Injustice 2 is the best fighting game from Netherealm Studios to date. It improves over not just the original Injustice, but Mortal Kombat as well. The story mode puts WB's live action movies to shame and the Metaverse provides near endless replay value.
The new DLC for Nier Automata is a fantastic reason to hop back into an already fantastic game. Just hope you kept that save file.
For those who might be tired of the traditional Musou hack and slash format, Spirit of Sanada offers up enough changes to make the series feel fresh while retaining the traditional 1 vs. 1000 hack and slash gameplay that the series is known and loved for.
At the end of the day, even with it's issues, Agents of Mayhem is still a fun experience that anyone who is a fan of hero shooters or the previous Saints Row titles will be able to enjoy. Shooting hoards of Legion scum won't get old any time soon.
It's pure fan service, and the story is absolute nonsense, but it's the most fun I have had playing an Omega Force Musou game in a long time. Fans of this long-running series of games will love this, but it won't do much to make anyone looking in give the series a chance.
WWE 2K18 is another decent entry in the long running games franchise. But as I said last year, it's sad that these games are just decent because they can be and should be great.
This game doesn't feel like the next game in a long running series. This feels like a brand new game that exists only to promote the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will go down as one of the biggest screw ups in video game history. EA and DICE had the easiest job in the world and completely ruined it with the absolutely ridiculous and downright unacceptable progression system for multiplayer. Combine that with the incredibly boring, lazy, and cliche story campaign and you easily have the biggest disappointment of 2017.
