8.3 / 10.0 - Wasteland 3
Aug 26, 2020

Wasteland 3 doesn't change its predecessor's successful formula but, outside of certain design limitations, it perfects and modernizes it. It's easily the best game in the franchise, in terms of pure technique, and one that clearly gives you an idea of what inXile is able to achieve.

7.5 / 10.0 - eFootball PES 2021
Sep 21, 2020

eFootball PES 2021 Season Update feels incomplete even as a simple update, however it retains the golden standard set by PES 2020 and makes some slight improvements

Mafia Definitive Edition is an ambitious undertaking, partially mined by glitches and lack of game progress from Mafia III but faithfully remaking the original game and adding nuances that surprisingly keep staying loyal to 2002's masterpiece.

8.2 / 10.0 - FIFA 21
Oct 6, 2020

FIFA 21 returns to a more arcady gameplay, going all in for speed and instant fun, and leaving behind last year's (if slight) search for a simulative pace. Though, it's the most refined and complete game in the series when it comes to modes and functionalities, something PES has been struggling to replicate for years.

Legion certainly gives the Watch Dogs franchise a future, obviously dystopian, to look forward to.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla has compelling story and themes, an often brave exploration component and inspired characters, even though those are all flooded by fillers seeking to artificially raise the longevity value.

7.8 / 10.0 - The Pathless
Nov 25, 2020

The Pathless suffers a way too linear narrative and game structure, but has an inspired art direction, more game features than Abzu, a great work and a great way to tell the players more about it.

Immortals Fenyx Rising has clear sources of 'inspiration' but also has a generally well crafted puzzle component that allows it to self itself apart from previous Ubisoft open world games.

Hivebusters is a rather interesting operation that the internal team of Xbox Game Studios used sagaciously to emphasize the deepest and most narrative direction of the saga.

Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139... doesn't fix the original game's flaws but, from a technical stand point, serves finally justice to an underestimated and obscure cult

The initial DLC of the season pass follows in the footsteps both in terms of narration, something we would have avoided, and gameplay, of which it inherits strengths and weaknesses, and to which just a couple of additions have been made to embellish a playful picture already discreetly innovated by the basic game.

While retaining some flaws of the original games, Mass Effect Legendary Edition (and specifically ME1's remaster and modern take on the action) is worth exploring once again for the fans, and for those who've always wondered what was so special about the franchise and never gave it a try.

6.5 / 10.0 - BIOMUTANT
May 24, 2021

Biomutant has multiple facets, some accomplished quite well, while others would have deserved more polish and a substantial overhaul to reach their targets. The experience is still enjoyable for large chunks, but Experiment 101 will have to do some more next time to fully convince us.

7 / 10.0 - Scarlet Nexus
Jun 23, 2021

Similarly to Code Vein, Scarlet Nexus offers a compelling universe, a smart gameplay and a fascinating art direction, but is limited by asset recycling when it comes to enemies and locations, a confusing plot and little side content. Bandai Namco is off to a good start with new IP, but needs to improve under these production areas.

Despite the great premises of the story, in short, it is an old-fashioned additional content: in terms of quantity there is little to complain about, Ubisoft knows how to package products that are worth the asking price and it is no coincidence that even after the end credits you can continue to play freely; but, overall, we have on our hands something that reshuffs what has already been seen in the original title without major heartaches or commitments on production values, if not in the coherent and accurate realization of the two characters dear to the public of the saga.

Unscored - Fallout 76
Jul 29, 2021

Kingdom of Steel carries on the virtuous path of Fallout 76, introducing in a completely free new story content that closes the story of the Brotherhood of Steel in Appalachia (for now, at least) and dictating the roadmap for the future of the online survival RPG by Bethesda Game Studios. A greater refinement for the next updates is desirable, given the maturity of the product, but also worth mentioning the legendary creation (with which to generate legendary objects at 1, 2 and 3 stars) and the season 5 just inaugurated, which aim to exert an appeal on the highest ranking players.

8.3 / 10.0 - Psychonauts 2
Aug 23, 2021

Psychonauts 2 is easily one of the best games on Xbox Game Pass and a must-play for the subscribers. It's a safe and traditional second entry in the franchise, but nonetheless a new gem in Tim Schafer's crown.

Although we expected a blow inflicted with more determination, we are facing a second interim DLC for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, probably in anticipation of the launch of a Year 2 for the first time in the history of the saga. We do not know how the contents will be in that case, at the level of orientation and depth, but at least we have been anticipated by the involvement of the Norse deities that should vary the theme and add a pinch of extra pepper on a post-launch program that, so far, has not managed to keep the story of the saga going.
