Been playing games for over 25 years and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon, so I might as well write about them.
9 / 10.0 - No More Heroes 3
Aug 26, 2021

In the end, even with all its faults, No More Heroes III is a true standout to me. I love the meta references, the dialogue, and even the crazy boss battles. The anime inspired cutscenes and effects pump the title with over-the-top energy and I’m here for it. If you’re a SUDA51 fan and you’ve followed the series, you need to pick this up.

For some, a game like Life is Strange: True Colors will be just that: a game. For many others, it’ll hit different, tapping into our deepest emotions and perfectly displaying our feelings in a relatable portrayal. It will peer into our very soul and reveal our own true colors, making our choices that much more impactful. With beautiful visuals, wonderful performances and animation, and an out of this world soundtrack, this is one game that will sit with me for a long time. If any of that sounds interesting to you, then you’ll likely enjoy this game. If you happen to be a fan of Life is Strange in general, then you’ll love True Colors.

In the end, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is a serviceable action game elevated by its story and writing. While the gameplay isn't wholly original, it mixes the ideas in a way that keeps things entertaining and engaging. Yes, there's a few bugs here and there, but even the most frustrating moments were outweighed by the sheer fun. With a rock solid soundtrack, great threads and fantastic vocal performances, this is one adventure you won't want to miss. If you're a fan of the MCU films, this is a fresh new take that you'll settle into easily. For the comic book fans, it's even better.

8.5 / 10.0 - Kingdom Hearts III

Kingdom Hearts III is a lot of things. One thing it definitely is not is a bad game. It's a solid entry to the series and can even bring about some strong emotions for those attached to the characters.

While the presentation takes a slight hit, the improved combat easily makes up for it. In a lot of ways, Ni no Kuni II is much better than its predecessor.

While not quite a demo and not quite a full game, Captain Spirit is a great way to test the waters. Whether you’re a die hard Life is Strange fan or completely new to the series, Captain Spirit is worthwhile.

While the game isn't perfect, this is easily the best Marvel Ultimate Alliance title. With a large and diverse roster, a fun story, and plenty of trials to keep you busy, the game is teeming with content. It's never been a better time to get some friends together, create a dream team of heroes, and just wreck house.

The game is a must-own for die-hard Castlevania fans, filling a void that's been empty for years. Bloodstained sets the bar for crowdfunded games, delivering a fantastic adventure.

8.5 / 10.0 - Judgment
Jul 10, 2019

Judgment is a great entry point for people looking to get into the Yakuza franchise. There's no need to play any of the previous games, the story is solid, and the gameplay offers a ton of variety. Even if it can get a little repetitive, there's a ton of time to kill in Kamurocho.

Sean and Daniel have encountered a lot on their journey, and it's nearing its end. If the final episode can deliver as well as Faith has, then Life is Strange 2 will be an excellent story as a whole.

While it has a few flaws, mostly in the performance department, don’t be fooled. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is still a dream come true.

Whether you’ve been a fan from the beginning or you’re starting out now, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III is a fine JRPG. It may have an overwhelmingly rich history, but there’s plenty of elements in place to help newcomers.

Overall, it should be known that Life is Strange 2 is an achievement in narrative storytelling in video games. It’s an eye-opening story of two brothers that have everything thrown at them, yet they continue to persevere.

Respawn has done something for fans of the series, making what is practically a love letter to the franchise. Because of this, thankfully, we can happily say the single-player Star Wars game is back in full force.

While it’s not perfect, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is an incredibly enjoyable experience. Not just a retelling of the story, but ultimately the definitive way to play the Dragon Ball Z saga.

With 40 different characters to explore, and a lot of variety with the V-System, fans can fight the way they want. Street Fighter V: Champion Edition is truly the definitive Street Fighter V experience. After four years, the game is finally at the level that fans have come to expect from this series.

While it may not be a long experience, with a story lasting roughly a half an hour, Space Channel 5 VR: Kinda Funky News Flash! is still a groovin’ good time. The music and dancing is addictive fun, and it really challenges players to keep track of the rhythm. As far as VR games go, it’s one of the better games I’ve played, working well in both concept and function.

8.5 / 10.0 - Resident Evil 3

Even though it’s definitely a different experience from RE2, Resident Evil 3 feels like a healthy mix of old and new. While it shifts focus from horror to action, it still delivers a short but sweet experience.
