Nick Gillham's Reviews

Nick is an avid video game entusiast and has been since his mum first allowed him to play on the Atari 2600 she never touched. To this day he's had the pleasure of playing on a vast array of different gaming machines. He's a recovering WoW-holic and when he's not playing games he's talking about games, reading about games, writing about games, watching videos about games, watching his son play games or chatting rubbish on Twitter. A lover, not a fighter and an all round good guy (he would say that, he wrote this after all), he's happy to be here as part of GIAG.
7 / 10.0 - Snooker 19
Apr 24, 2019

Never going to really appeal to anyone who isn't a fan, Snooker 2019 is a decent representation let down by a lack of polish.

A delightfully whimsical steampunk-RPG romp and you'd have to be malfunctioning to miss out on it.

If the audience is there, then these home console versions of Ace Attorney are very welcome as I have no objection to more Phoenix Wright.

Sit down, fix yourself a stiff drink, and get ready to open up. The Red Strings Club is an establishment worth visiting.

5.5 / 10.0 - JUMP FORCE
Feb 27, 2019

Jump Force wanted to be something for every anime fan, but while there's plenty of fan service there just isn't enough substance to proceedings.

A lovely little diversion for the wolf brothers finds their biggest problem not to be the law, but inconsistencies in their own animation.

6.5 / 10.0 - Double Cross
Jan 22, 2019

Definitely not the best game, but definitely not the worst, at least you wouldn't wind up being doubly cross after playing this.

Not quite the glorious return we wanted for Travis Touchdown, for all of this game's desire to be weird it does a better job of making itself uninteresting.

Fitting for a game called ‘Tales' Vesperia spins a good yarn, but ultimately the game is showing its age.

If you don't own Football Manager Touch 2018 then this is the game you want. However, if you do own the previous game then this isn't really worth the upgrade.

7 / 10.0 - Super Hydorah
Nov 22, 2018

A solid if unspectacular entry into the shoot ‘em up stable, Super Hydorah at least provides a decent amount of bang for your buck.

Bright, colourful and a lot of fun, Taiko no Tatsujin is a beat 'em up I can really get behind.

The Football Manager series just goes from strength to strength. This is superb, sublime, and irresistible. It's not a game you play, it's a game you live.

My Hero One's Justice certainly gets an A for effort but scrapes by with a C for it's working out.

6.5 / 10.0 - Luigi's Mansion

Luigi's Mansion is a great place to visit, but while its presence is welcome in 2018 it really could have done with some modernisation.
